Thanks for explaining stien for me. I don't like googling words for their meaning. ๐Ÿ˜„

Thanks for the egg, TB2, I'm going to do what every loving grandfather would do and give it to the kids ๐Ÿ˜ƒ.

    Well done that man.

When I was wee my Grandad would sneak me a poke of sweeties including milkybars when we went for walks together.

Fast forward to my late teens when I moved in with my Gran after he had passed. I told her about this one night when we were reminicing about him.

Shocked to the core she pointed out he would chastise her for spoiling me. I noted he had to cover his tracks!

Both of them and the sweet shop in Pitlochry long gone...

(The A.R.S.E.'s Cylon eye faintly glows, does a mini sweep for a second, then silently goes out again.)

Savour the power of being a Grandparent Barbel! My Maternal and StepMaternal Grandparents all had a huge influence on me.

    Right! Who wants what?

Oh, just the usual, please. And yes, I am loving being a grandparent. It beats being a parent hands down! (At least partly that's cos I have more time and more money now to spend with and on the kids - yesterday we went to the Burrell Collection, recommended to all)

(Thunderbird 2 is sitting at the bar unable to focus on the laptop.

He is gently swilling a drink in a glass. Holly is nuzzling against him gently doing her 'murmur purr' to cheer him up. Digits is rubbing his left shoulder which is sharply twinging.)

I just sat through 'Operation Kid Brother' with Neil Connery. Lois Maxwell was amazing. The rest of it feels like the film CR-67, thought it could be.

    What was Adolfo Celli Thinking?!

I feel your pain, TB2. Was that your first viewing of this cinematic masterpiece? If it was, you'll be back. The pleasures of the title song, the shock/surprise at seeing so many Bond alumni demonstrating that Eon really should pay their actors enough that they don't have to do such things, the insanity of the plot ... you'll be pulled back into it all.

  • Sir MilesSir Miles The Wrong Side Of The WardrobePosts: 30,891Chief of Staff

I have that on video somewhere…should really get a dvd of it…as Barbel says (in his best Arnold Schwarzenegger voice) - you’ll be back ๐Ÿ˜

I'm just imagining a modern version - Daniel Craig's brother (dubbed by a hideously generic American voice) is recruited by Ralph Fiennes and Naomie Harris to battle with Mads Mikkelsen and Javier Bardem while snogging Eva Green. On a budget equivalent to one episode of a tv soap opera. A singer desperately trying to sound like Adele doing the title song.

You know, that might actually work ....

I've never actually seen that film (as yet) and I kid you not.

First, and last. Awful. Bloddy Awful.

At least CR-67 is so poor its hillarious in places! Oh and watch what you are suggesting. Mr Craig has a brother, thats all we need!

(Thunderbird 2 looks at the ARSE, along with Digits. Both are consulting a manual that is as large as an old style London Phone Book.)

    The micro fibre relays?

    ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿผ

What about the emergency cut off curcuit?

    ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿผ

I know! We haven't tried the induce back up module!

(Digits produces a flurry of one handed sign language)

    What?

    ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿผ

Oh, I see, you tried that and it didn't, work.

    ๐Ÿซด๐Ÿผ

    Alright, any remaining suggestions?

Phone Grandfather Q! Good idea. I'll do so (sneezes violently) once I have another Peppermint tea, and get the Albus oil. I feel lousy.

Oh and Digits? Please put Operation Kid Brother in the secure vault! We are not going through that again!

    • Just out of curiosity, how many digits do you have? They seem useful.

No 24, Digits is one of a kind.

He joined us from Bond HQ, on a secondmant, after The House Of Eon closed shop.

On my reccomendation and his wishes, he has stayed as a permanent member of staff, alongside Holly , C.H.E.E.K.S and The A.R.S.E. If we can get him running again. Digits is left handed and a nephew of The Thing from Wednesday.

    One large Coke Zero.

Stong Coffee as you requested M.

Captain Janeway, Caffine Junkie, please use the ear stoppers, this batch is a little... vigirous. (The entire caffitiere shakes ominiously, a sharp shrieking lasts a solid minute.)

I had no idea Digits is related to a celebrity!

Wait .... One of a kind? Should't Digits have twin?

Sorry 24, not literally one of a kind. I mean he is a very Good character, a nice Guy who stands out.

You are right though, the hands usually come in pairs, and Digits is no exception. His right handed brother is Knuckles. Digits has only made reference to him a couple of times and not in a favourable way either. A rough and tumble character, Knuckes is the black fingernail in the family. (Assuming I translated what Digits said correctly.) Seems the brothers are more opposites as much as a pair. At least in their approach to life. Seems they went their seperate ways a long time ago.

No, our Digits is a brilliant one man band, hand! Who wants what?

(The A.R.S.E's cylon eye pulses on and off slowly three times, green, red, then blue, before gently going dark again. C.H.E.E.K.S. spots this and runs a diagnostic check of all systems. -

    But she finds nothing.)

I find Digits family background fascinating. Given his tumultuous relationship with his twin brother Knuckles I wonder if he's ever seen the film noir classic ""Night of the hunter" (1955) and if he ever has consider getting tattoos?

  • Thunderbird 2Thunderbird 2 East of Cardiff, Wales.Posts: 2,932MI6 Agent

I asked Digits last night, he said he does like classic films but he has not seen that one. Seems his favourites are slapstick comedies and hands on action films.

This did not surprise me, he also seems to find hand drawn traditional animation facinating too.

Tatoos - no. Digits has never been keen on body art for himself, as a Left Hand it would feel like branding more than art to him? Plus he likes keeping a complete clear complection. Thats also why his nails are always short and clean too.

I can understand hid feelings, I have a tattoo in a discrete place. Digits has no discrete places, he is a hand!

In other news, I have restocked the cellar again, and am working through a new bake list. Is there anything new happening on the Bond front?! I need new material.

    You know something Barbel?

(Produces a tray with several decanters and tumblers.) I needed to hear another of us say that more than I realised.

Chin chin Folks! By the way, can someone Please tell me which one of these (indicates decanters) is the apple juice? I went tea total last month.

There seems to be plenty of material without Bond in it being released but not anything with him in it being released. Bond now just seems to be a bandwagon (or Bondwagon?) on which other characters merrily ride along. Welcome to the world of 2025!

The series of Double O books by Kim Sherwood, the Felix Leiter novel The Hook and the Eye by Raymond Benson and the upcoming Q Mysteries series by Vaseem Khan are three recent examples of what I'm referring to.

Despite the contents of some of my posts suggesting otherwise I can honestly say I've never drank alcohol in my life. So I'm not much of a Bondian figure really, but there it is. Sorry to disappoint you all but I'm not really James Bond! ๐Ÿ˜‰

As far as I know, none of us are James Bond. But at least I can say I've destroyed fewer cars than Bond!

  • Silhouette ManSilhouette Man The last refuge of a scoundrelPosts: 9,317MI6 Agent

The closest I've ever come to being like James Bond was that time I had to drive a car without brakes. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

In car terms I'd say my closest I've been to James Bond is driving irresponsibly on a road like this lots of times (not the actual road, but you get the idea) I don't know why my friends all survived being young.
