Well here it is, Bond's pysis monocular.

This is the first off, learnt a few things along the way and used a couple of new techniques I've never done before, so this has been quite a rewarding project.

Want one?

    For some it's the glam threads and locations, for others it's the hunt of the rare and sought after items, for me its the research and planning of making what I can't find or afford.

    I'll post a development shot later on.

    As promised, this pic shows what goes into (at least a small part of it) a prop being made.

    Sketch model, patterns and cast final parts assembled.

    Between these three stages are several test fits, reworks, mould making, material selections and paint choices, so this pic is really just the tip of the shaft... i mean iceberg.

    Anyway, behold!

    This is the type of stuff I was talking about in another thread...it boggles my mind when I see the concept to delivery of an item like this. I know a part of it is the sheer wonderment of the talent needed to produce this but the other part is the patience and discipline that I know is needed to complete something like this. Really great job and I loved waking up and seeing this behind the scene shot into the making of....

    So to finish things off I thought some effort needs paying to the presentation of the Pysis.

    I thought about several methods and designs of display base etc, but thought a more realistic idea would be to have the Pysis sit snug in its own flight case, almost as if Q had put it in the boot of the DB5 ready for Bond's use.

    After trawling the net I finally found the right sized case, so I set to work getting a foam insert cut to hold the Pysis snug for transit.

    The case features a Q Branch plaque on the outside, with the s/n depicting which of the run each replica prop is. Inside is another plaque stating what the prop is, so any lucky owners can display the box open or closed.

    Underneath is a makers plaque, hidden away but there for anyone interested.

    Thanks to everyone's uplifting and kind compliments, some people have snapped one of these up already, there's only going to be this run and when they're gone, they're gone!

    Thanks guys,

    MG -{

    Hi guys, here's a quick update on things;

    I've had a few people ask about the Pysis run and from the materials I had, all but one has found a home. Not all ten have been made, so this isn't a final curtain call, just a 'last orders' on the current batch.

    I've got 3 people who have stated an interest but no one has confirmed yes or no yet. I'm not going to start chasing people or reserving anything without someone confirming their interest.

    If anyone is interested then please put your hand up.

    Closing time James,

    Just received my Pysis...MG, my jaw has suffered significant damage from hitting the floor so hard. This has to be one of the most meticulously crafted, studied and accurate props I own. Stunning, seriously....will take some hero shots this weekend amongst my other Goldeneye goodies to truly show off this artwork in the environment it deserves...cannot thank you again for doing this initiative and allowing me to participate.
