Oh man that's brilliant storytelling on the part of the news producers, that stings.

    yes, all the feels!

I should add I am increasingly of the mind that releasing in some territories, UK included, is bordering on gross negligence, unless there is a marked improvement in circumstances.

And I say that as someone who has been lucky enough to go to several advance press screenings, and gone to midnight first screenings for as long as I have lived where that was possible, and associate Bond with the big screen experience in a fundamental way.

Things are taking a turn for the worse in Holland too - at this moment, I would not feel very comfortable sitting in a movie theater. Not even to see the latest James Bond film.

    Sorry to hear that.

And yes, "someone usually dies" is a great line, a less good warning for a cinema ticket.

Well, here we are in October...

I see the marketing has doubled down now by going from "In Cinemas" to "ONLY in cinemas.."

Reality is films like NTTD, Too Gun 2 etc releasing in 2021 could be the shot in the arm for film industry, and it will need it (if all the cinemas have not closed by then anyway - millions depend on that industry)

So as frustrating as it it releasing now is just not the right thing to do, in fact could be seen as irresponsible if they continued with a Nov launch date. A small fortune has been spent on this film and it’s not an amount that can be ignored the accountants will be demanding at least cost recovery or the financiers who are no doubt feeling the pinch this year will have lower or a lack of funding in the future.

Note of caution even if a vaccine is found if will and should go to those in need (and that may mean some of us on here for many other reasons than being Bond fans). But to vaccinate the remaining billions of us will not be done overnight you are talking maybe 6 months (or likely more) to manufacture, distribute and complete vaccination (search Spanish flu, history repeats itself).

So as disappointing as it may be it’s the right thing to do, but don’t bet your life savings on Spring 21 just yet - it’s in the hands now of the human race and just how seriously we all take social responsibility and looking out for each other.

    Cheers :007)

Not surprising. My strong preference remains to see NTTD in all its IMAX glory in a real theater and I'm willing to wait for that.
However, to prepare myself for the possibility of a VOD release I have upgraded from a Sony 55" 4K TV to a Sony 75" 4k TV. Even if I eventually get to see NTTD safely in my local IMAX.....my Bond Blu Ray collection is looking that much more stunning and immersive on that 75" screen. :)
