Off topic but is the DAF poster the one which offers the least accurate representation of the movie? Those two women look nothing like the women in the movie, Bond doesn't even go with a blonde, and Connery never looks like that either, he doesn't have a forward combed rug. The scuba divers may have been in the script but not in the final product.
Other contenders: Moonraker is a great poster but neither Bond nor Goodhead wore those outfits in the film, Live And Let Die features a weapon never seen in the movie, and Solitaire doesn't get her kit off like that either.
Yes, you're not alone with that happening sometimes.
CD1 - the SQ is fantastic, and the mixes are well done. It was amazing to hear a different take of Dame Shirley belting out the title song. And positively surreal to hear the extra verse after so many years of listening to the original.
Delighted with this release. Dame Shirley's performance of the title song in Italian on Disc 2 is quite something; and yes, the alternate take in English is a fascinating listen, short of the perfection of the version we all know and love.
Where there are differences between the original album's Vegas-flavour tracks, such as 'Circus Circus', and the movie arrangements of those same pieces, added here - or the extended versions - I tend to prefer the smoother, original album variants for standalone listening.
This new release is likely to remain the definitive edition, but in terms of content breakthrough the 2003 remaster CD probably had a greater impact on me - bringing to disc for the first time, as it did, many of Barry's finest compositions for the film (which had been missing from the original album). Before that, Silva's 'Bond Back In Action' CD had led the way, breaking in a cover arrangement of the Wint and Kidd theme.
So good to be adding 'Diamonds' to the Limited Edition collection.
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.
I remember that Silva CD, still got it somewhere. I'm sure I remember their version of 007 And Counting had one of the notes in the four-note vamp which underscores the whole cue.. just wrong!
Yes I've gone Golden Child too; I don't know it but it seems fun. I like the Spectre score in the film, and I think it works better than most Arnold scores which sound rather thin to my ears, but it's one of those which isn't as much fun to listen to separately, although I do like the opening stuff.
Listening to the samples on the website I was a bit surprised by the twangy guitar on the end of the Helicopter Fight which I have never picked up on in the film, and which is kind of cool.

This is one I've been waiting for... my order's in!

I've ordered diamonds are forever too.
"Weren't you a blonde when I came in?"
:-) :-) :-)
Just found this at Quartet Records:
The movie is nigh unwatchable but the soundtrack, as I recall, is pretty good.
Yeah I got the expanded edition, it's good stuff.
The Man With The Golden Gun is being released on vinyl:
Just arrived, now to listen! 😀
Mine's apparently taking the scenic route, not arriving until Saturday. Not sure why it's taking so long...maybe they're routing it via Bangladesh.

Edit- haven't heard CD2 as yet

DAF came today...I guess they didn't route it through Bangladesh after all.
Time to give it a spin!
OK, Shirley singing DAF in Italian is kinda perfect.
That new verse is filth though 😂
Man, this DAF soundtrack is one of the best. I'm fairly tepid on the film itself but this score is first rate. Maybe one of Barry's best.
In the same way that, in GF, Barry imbues gold with its own musical quality, so here he evokes the 'sound' of diamonds.
Spectre is the latest expanded La La Land release.
They’re also releasing John Barry’s unused Golden Child score, which I’m intrigued by.
Thanks, emtiem. Golden Child is intriguing, Spectre much less so but I'll probably get it anyway.
.... and I've just ordered Golden Child. Without even hearing it, I know it'll be better than GoldenEye 😉
Spectre, maybe later. I barely play the standard version as it is.

Grabbed SPECTRE. I've got 'em all so why not?
Weird that this is our first DC era score.
