Has anyone else noticed that there are some similarities between the films of the Connery and Moore eras? That in most cases, the Moore films are somewhat remakes of Connery's films?

Live and Let Die - Dr No

Both are set in Jamacia, both spend time establishing the Bond character, and in both Bond has to uncover the identity of a secret villain who's killing people.

The Man with the Golden Gun - Diamonds Are Forever

Both films have cheap production and silly plot elements, focusing more on comedy.

The Spy Who Loved Me - You Only Live Twice

These two films are epic adventures on a grand scale in which Bond has to overcome a villain that threatens to bring about the end of civilisation.

Moonraker - You Only Live Twice

Moonraker is basically a remake of Spy, drawing on that film's plot and the silliness of YOLT.

For Your Eyes Only - From Russia with Love

Two tense cold war thrillers that are far more subdued than most of the other films in the series.

Octopussy - Thunderball

Two large scale films in which the first half shows Bond enjoying life in a foreign location, while the second half is more tense and serious as Bond works to overcome a nuclear threat.

A View to a Kill - Goldfinger

Both films have Bond tracking down an industrialist who's set on destroying some aspect of society so that he can profit.
