Cheers, Everyone,

Came across a wonderful film with Michael Caine and Eric Portman (#2 in "Free For All"episode of The Prisoner) There's a symphony sequence early on, and it features a very special conductor, our own John Barry! Shirley Bassey sings the title song, and there are quite a few Bond references- even some OHMSS looking sets, which hadn't been filmed yet. Perhaps Peter Hunt took some ideas from this film. Cars galore, even an E-Type LHD Drophead. I am only half way through and am compelled to share the link. Almost forgot: Kronsteen appears in the first reel as a doctor. He would go on to play one in "U.F.O" series a year later.

Enjoy!

Tom

Must admit I’ve never seen it, although I’ve long loved the amazing music Barry wrote for it.

Deadfall is alright, a bit confused, with a good score as you say and some decent visuals. And when I saw ut, I wasn't expecting to see John Barry conducting so it was quite a spark and a neat wink to the audience.

Love the score. The song "My Love Has Two Faces" is very Bondian - it's composed by John Barry and sung by Shirley Bassey, so it has a head start in that department. I find it dark and haunting.

The centerpiece of both the film and the score is "Romance For Guitar And Orchestra", which works both in the film (Barry is seen conducting the orchestra while Caine and Portman do a robbery) and as a standalone piece to enjoy.
