Any ideas - I never heard of this one

I saw this advertised on Discogs.

Never heard of it before. I assume this a music only release by an unnamed artist and orchestra. 1983 apparently.

Can anyone enlighten me?

It caught my eye because I love the cover photo - what a fantastically alluring picture! 😀😀

It’s normally from 1984 and from Switzerland - yours was made in Italy 🤔 The songs/themes are performed by Everest Europa.

At least some of the tracks date back to the mid-60s, when a plethora of Bond cover albums were released. As well as covering the obvious songs, sometimes an orchestra leader would include an original track or two (eg "M Joins The Hunt") to ensure part of the writing royalties.

Over the years more songs appeared and were covered, and the albums grew longer or went into "Volume 2" or similar. I'm pretty sure that at least some of the above tracks were by Johnny Pearson and his Orchestra, some by Roland Shaw, and others.

These were originally on LPs then as cassettes became popular they would appear there, usually at budget prices, and then CDs.

Edit- no artist credit since this is a compilation by more than one artist.

Edit- and I'd bet that the track named "The Man With The Golden Gun" is no such thing. A budget album came out before the film and it's song with a track of that name to encourage buyers.

    Here's a CD version I have

    It's clearly a "Volume 2", but I don’t have the first.
