Hold on to your arses, this isn't a moan for a change.... ish.
Recently I've been doing research into stuff non-bond, trawling through books, YouTube clips, the tinterweb and another aspect, joining a few forums.
One forum was so overrun with others doing their research that it was hard to keep tabs on things. Threads on the same topic running alongside each other, the front page changing on an hourly basis and just 3 days after posting my enquiries my thread could be found on page 5! Luckily I managed to get a very helpful reply before being lost into obscurity.
The other forum I joined though was far far worse. Although getting over 200 views in a week, my thread only got one reply which pretty much stated what I already knew, and stated in my original post. A further reply from me got no other answers. Ok, so not getting a plethora of replies can be annoying, but worse is the rules not being explained. Apparently editing your posts after 24hrs is forbidden to stop spammers.
However, the cherry on the cake is the fact that only 2 people could edit/delete posts as moderators. One was suspected dead, the other AWOL. So spammers couldn't be banned, posts couldn't be deleted, and what's worse is the forum owner hadn't been seen or contactable in years so full moderator power couldn't be transferred to some deputies.
All this left the forum in a state of limbo with no one in control, spammers left to run riot and the boards running away with themselves.
And then I return back home to AJB.
It only becomes apparent how lucky you are when you experience things without a proper mod team in place.
So to Si for funding it and all the mods for playing a thankless and voluntary task of keeping things in check;
Thank you -{

I agree the mods do a great job at keeping out the spammers, trolls etc.
We are lucky to have the team we do. Might not say it too often but yes
" Thank you " from giving a spanked bottom to a troll, to words of advice
as Fr Ted woukd say " They're a great bunch of lads " not the most attractive
I've been told but then you can't have everthing. ) {[]
The only active thing that he did for weeks was playing with my signature X-(
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
Something tells me you wish he'd been playing with something else of yours

You're a VERY lucky boy that its only your signature that changes - ask minigeff )
That's if you're not changing it yourself ?
As for missing owners....at least Si still pays the bills
Hardyboy deserves some love to. I'm sure there's another Mod I'm forgetting about.
Don't worry...that's really not for my 'Mod abilities' at all...its more for 'annoying persistence' )
And that 'other Mod' would be Barbel...who has contributed so seamlessly you probably haven't realised -{

Hey. Microjiff,
What have you done to proactively post that slimey mod - praising to prevent a banning?
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
Bugger, you figured me out. That's that pro-Putin hero worship campaign cancelled now, THANKS BUMTOYS.
