Maurice: I’m smoothing down her pubic hair with this Vaseline so it won’t show in silhouette. Got to keep the censor happy.
Cubby: (Jaw dropping.) Pubic hair? Vaseline?
Roger: Let me get this straight- Cubby, you’re the producer of this movie and I’m the star. Why does HE get all the good jobs?

John: Right, Tim, all I need is a few close-ups of you on this plane model and then we’ll get Paul Weston to take over for the really high shots.
Timothy: It doesn’t look that hard, John, I’d like to have a crack at that myself.
John: No can do, Tim, the insurance company won’t have it. Cubby would have both our heads.
Tim: Well, Cubby isn’t here- go on, let me try.
John: (Doubtfully.) Hmm… just be careful.
(Dalton gets onto the plane, high up in the air, as Glen starts filming. Behind them, Cubby’s Rolls drives up to the set and he gets out.)
Cubby: Morning, John.

Cubby: Shooting going well? Where’s Tim?
John: (Stalling for time.) Tim?

Finally bought the RGT jacket (own two) full review

Hey guys, finally back into Bond. Took a break but I started rewatching the series and decided I needed the RGT jacket. Instead of buying new I found two on eBay one medium and one large, (I’m typically a medium always), and I gotta say the medium is very very fitted. Great if you are going on a date in the city or just want to look stylish. If I was cold and wanted to wear something with layers I would wear my large.

$220 and $250. Honestly instead of paying around $400 for a new one I think I got a really good deal. Being in Texas, I would probably rock this a lot in the fall or use this as a travel jacket. Seems like they are very sturdy, well made, you can throw them around a bit without having to worry about the jacket getting destroyed.

Which was the last film you saw? Old and new. And what did you think of it? Would you recommend it?

For me, it was the oldie "Where Eagles Dare" (1968). I've seen it before. Unfortunately, it wasn't as good as I remembered it. I'd still recommend, even though the dispense-of-belief-requirements are a little too much at times.

While typing, I'm watching a music video: "Deep Purple in concert with the London Symphony Orchestra", rec. 1999. Fantastic stuff. Highly recommended.

Your Most Controversial Bond Opinions

I saw a thread like this on another site and thought it was a fun idea. I apologize if there’s another topic like this (I did a couple searches and couldn’t find one).

The subject line says it all: Tell us your deepest, darkest James Bond movie confessions – your opinions that are so far outside the norm that you’re practically ashamed of them...the opinions to which other fans say “WHAT?!!” or “BOOO!” to. Because I guarantee that EVERY single one of us has at least one opinion that other Bond fans think is downright crazy.

So do you think Moonraker is the best film in the series? Do you think the Bond/Mayday sex scene in AVTAK was hot? Do you think Madonna’s DAD theme song ranks with the best of the Bond songs? This is the place to tell us.

I’m hoping this will stir up some fun debates, but also hoping that people can remain civil. I would hate to start a topic that devolves into insults and name-calling.

I’ll start with my own (rather outside the norm) opinions:

--I hate the song “Goldfinger.”
--I think George Lazenby is terrific as Bond, and wish he had continued with the role
--I think Blofeld is the weakest villain of the series. He’s either not there, or he’s being given ridiculous, bordering-on-hilarious portrayals by Pleasance, Savalas, or Gray.

And yes, those are my honest opinions – not saying them to be provocative. Feel free to disagree/yell/scream...or perhaps even agree

Wilson and Barbara Broccoli today announced that they have formed a new joint venture to house the James Bond intellectual property rights, and those parties will remain co-owners of the franchise. Under the terms of the new venture, Amazon MGM Studios will gain creative control of the James Bond franchise following closing of the transaction.

"With the conclusion of No Time To Die and Michael retiring from the films, I feel it is time to focus on my other projects.” commented Broccoli.

This thread is devoted to reproducing every known interview with Ian Fleming. The interviews will be posted weekly and in chronological order. If you think I've missed any let me know. This post will serve as a regularly updated index of links for easy access.

Though Fleming was eager for Bond's name to appear in as many places as possible, he was more shy about promoting himself. During a decade-long writing career he gave approximately 25 interviews in print. He gave far fewer in radio or TV and most of them no longer survive.

If you've ever been interested enough in someone to read through collections of their interviews then you know that people tend to repeat favorite stories. So if you read every post in this thread you'll repeatedly encounter Fleming's anecdotes about dinner at Scott's and meeting JFK. Nevertheless, I think every interview holds something of interest.

CoolHandBond and I have been talking and we're going to watch a Bond movie once a week starting on Monday ie day after tomorrow.

Remember when we did a watchalong a few years back? The difference is that rather than co-ordinate a set time we have a whole week to accommodate different time zones and schedules. Also I'm too lazy to work out the times necessary like @Higgins did.

So, from this Monday we have a week to watch DN in all it's glory then report back here in this thread before we move on to FRWL. If it turns out to be only CHB and me then so be it, but it'll be more fun if others pitch in.

Anyone see The Flash this week on sky, I thought it a little simplistic in its story
May have worked better as a 90 minute introduction movie rather than a One

So I managed to find the V1 Morocco jacket from RF on poshmark. $250. Comes in this week but it is a size large. I’ve only worn size mediums, I do have a large from RGT for the garage scene that fits me pretty well. I am going to assume this large will be too big?

As those who have sky in Britian will know, the last ever episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer just aired. I would like to start this thread as a tribute to her wonderful entertainment through the years!

In my eyes the last ever episode was definately the best, it had me on the edge of my seat all the way through, and what a great ending, I've marked this as a spoiler so knock yourselfs out talking about it!

I have been with Buffy from very early on in her existance. I remember seeing the first ever episode, I'm not sure if it was the first time it was on, but I have been watching Buffy for a long time.

I just watched the final installment, as i said it had me on the edge of my seat, and I am adding it to my mental list of things I love! (thats, The Matrix, James Bond, Theatre, Speed (the film not the drugs!)Star Wars and now Buffy (Bond goes without saying)!

The War Drums thread is somehow gone, but sadly the war in Ukraine continues. That's why I'm starting this thread as a successor to War Drums. The members who posted in War Drums were careful not to get personal. Especially on the rare times issues outside of Russia and Ukraine relevant to the war were mentioned we made a point of not starting discussions about political conflicts in those countries. I want this thread to continue in the same spirit. That being said -please post. 🙂

Until the old Tributes thread is resurrected, I thought I would start a temporary thread. Sadly, it's not because I want to increase my topic count but because I was absolutely shocked to discover that the great David Carradine, of Kung Fu and Kill Bill fame, has died. He was a fantastic actor, whose Western-style Martial Arts persona, was a wonderful combination of East meets West, and he was IMO one of the best things about Kill Bill Vol. 2. RIP -{

Actor David Carradine found dead in Bangkok

June 5, 2009 - 12:36AM

Actor David Carradine, star of the 1970s TV series Kung Fu who also had a wide-ranging career in the movies, has been found dead in the Thai capital, Bangkok.

A spokesman for the US Embassy, Michael Turner, confirmed the death of the 72-year-old actor. He says Carradine died either late on Wednesday or early Thursday, but he could not provide further details out of consideration for his family.

The website of the newspaper The Nation cited unidentified police sources as saying Carradine was found on Thursday hanged in his luxury hotel room and is believed to have committed suicide.

Carradine was a leading member of a venerable Hollywood acting family that included his father, character actor John Carradine, and brother Keith.

Having now made a few purchases and sales through the forum I thought it might be helpful to have a thread to record our experiences, all though buying from a fellow members should be a secure and friendly experience the odd rogue does get through now and again, Tom Ford 108's anybody! Buying from an unknown source over the Internet can cause some anxiousness so this could be helpful. Obviously if there is no appetite for this then that's fine.
All my experiences so far have been very good and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending,
