The advantage is that the piton gun is a mix of real items so you do not begin from scratch.
Other advantage is that there is a lot of pictures and documentation online.
After it depends like always of how screen accurate you want it and of your skill set.
It s anyway a makeable and fun project! Don't hesitate to post your progress or finish prop! {[]

Several replicators have made them; there are threads about on this very site, The RPF, more.
Most, I think, have been one-offs done for the builder themselves.
There was at least one person, though, who did multiples.
I have one of those but to be honest, it got damaged in shipping like a decade ago and I've never done a thing with it.
