They don't fit super snug. You can get jacket on and off without unzipping them.

I find that with the original JV as well, the zips are essentially just there for show, the wrists are far from narrow

worth pointing out too, that this is black, not midnight blue. Also does not have the baseball stitching above the pockets.

Thanks for all your help on this. Still deciding between this version or Wested, i have to say, due to my previous experience, i'm leaning more towards Wested. Being in the UK, its just easier for me to return it if i need to and i know i can trust the quality.

Right! Finally, as much as I love the dual zip thing this jacket has got going on, other than actually ordering the JV version which would be mental, I have ordered the Wested one. I'll post some pictures when it arrives. Cheers for all your help!

Just got back from Kingston. Bought a very Morocco style jacket in Zara for £40. Wierdly, they have them in Midnight Blue aswell. Will post a photo later. But for the price, very good. Far from.SA but a worthy addition to the wardrobe.

Hello. OK, got my Wested JV replica today, It’s very heavy is my first impression. I was expecting it to be a lot more lightweight. Also, the suede dye has come off in my hands! Thats never happened before. For a suede jacket its also quite stiff, so there are perky, pointy shoulders and it doesn’t drape as you’d expect. The other issue i have is with the gussets. The sleeves are very wide. When zipped up the gusset folds in quite far inside the wrist which is a bit annoying. Damn, really trying to find something positive to say about it. I have to say at this point i do prefer the 50 quid Zara one I tried on 2 weeks ago. Gonna have a look at that one again tomorrow night and then decide. I just would like to see what it’s going to look like in 2 months and then decide!

Is this the one you're referring to? Also in navy blue, and light and dark brown?

    It is quite tempting.

    Yes. Consssssiderably.

Yeah i popped into Zara in Kingston last night and they had totally sold out. The £49.99 blue jacket is superb, but as they're Poly they tend to get a bit sweaty quickly. The one from last year is better, but the only ones on line i can find are too small.
Oh and the Wested jacket has been sent back and i kind feel that i might give up on the internet buying lark. I'll try to find a lookie-likie in the shops.

I know the price is crazy (more than what some Matchless ones on eBay have been going for) but has anyone tried Magnoli's Morocco jacket? I don't remember anyone mentioning it since he announced releasing it.

I love his London Black jacket, i know it will be spot on, but it's just too much and probably with a 6 week turnaround, which means it would be miles too hot to wear it once it arrives.

In the film I believe it was a dark navy color.

The JV jacket was blue. The color was called Marine on the tags.

shame about the price tag. i have handmade jackets that cost less than that.

Well, I gave up on replicas. Both of the jackets I got, a dodgy one from Ebay and an expensive one from wested that weighed about 10 stone with massive flared cuffs put me off for a while. So i've managed to source an original varvatos from 2015 for a very reasonable amount. I just need to get the sleeves shortened and i'll be sorted and wearing it with my N. Peal jumper come the Autumn. Sorted.

oh the irony. So after my two replica disasters I managed to find an original John Varvatos for a very good price. However, when it arrived the sleeves were miles too long for me. Almost to my fingertips. I did consider getting the sleeves shortened but it could have gone wrong and it would devalue it if I wanted to sell it in the future. So I sold it. Gutted. Yesterday, while out shopping with the wife, I found one of the higher end Zara jackets in the correct colour which fit me perfectly. The only major difference is there is a snap collar on the jacket which I am sure I could get removed. The better news, in the sale it was £25. Sorted.

No the one I bought had zips on the chest and a more square fit. I have that brown one, but the one i got on Sunday is a little thicker and better quality. But there is a blue which is identical to that one. Nice jacket.

I get my Sunspel stuff from the store in Old Compton St in Soho. It's the flagship and they have the entire range. Going there today as the sale is on and I have a credit card burning a hole in my pocket. Might treat myself to one of their jumpers.
