Y-3 Jacket

Found a Y-3 jacket that looks very much like the one in the film and it's even called Y-3 Quantum Jacket. But it's a bit different from the ones i've seen posted here

    Hi JesseDart,

LOOKS LIKE A NICE FIND....AN INTERESTING JACKET...

but the one worn in the film had an open pocket, not the zipper pocket on this jacket...

could be Y3 trying belatedly to cash in...

I've just received one of these jackets today in the post, it took two days from ordering to arrive and is superb.

Yes it is different from the film jacket but I can highly recommend the jacket & xileclothing.com :)

Well the Y-3 logo on the back is black and so is the jacket so it's pretty hard to spot unless its a lot of sun

    Good to know.

Looks as if xile has sold out, so you have struck lucky.

I dunno, I just received the Solace jacket I ordered from Magnoli a few weeks ago, requesting an even lighter weight fabric than the standard twill, and it is absolutely perfect. They used a very light black cotton twill and with the custom measurements, it's hard for me to believe that the original Y-3 is any better! :)

Hi. How does the size on the xileclothing jacket run? At the moment they only seem to have xlarge in stock. I normally take a large or xlarge depending on the make of jacket, so unless the xlarge is massive, i may order one. What are your thoughts, if you have the jacket?
    Thanks.

I'm a 42" chest and the XL fitted fine everywhere other than the sleeves being about 2 inches too long so I returned the jacket.

I'm probably wrong but isn't the Y3 jacket that Bond takes from Slate's wardrobe actually midnight blue/navy and not black? Looks like that IMO on Blu ray.

Figured I’d add my two cents. I picked up the Y-3 jacket the other day and I must say that I'm very impressed with it. It fits perfect for my body type, which is a rarity, as I quite often have to buy a larger size and have to take in. The only grievances I have with the jacket would be the oddly designed mini-pocket flap (visible in one of the images, on the link in the fist post) just under the main zipper. For those worried about the Y-3 logo on the back, like JesseDart mentioned, the logo is not distracting in person. Though the jacket is not exact to the movies jackets look and design, you can’t help feel badass in it, as it is truly a sexy and stylish jacket.

As for the details, I feel the jacket fits best, though not limited to, an athletic body type, and has a fantastic fitted cut right off the rack. Having a 2% Elastane addition to an otherwise cotton jacket has added some useful give to the material, so the previously mentioned fitted cut doesn’t hinder mobility in anyway. For those interested in sizing, my jacket is a size large and my personal measurements*, to give you an idea of fit, are as follows:

    Shoulder Width: 22
    Full Chest: 44
    Sleeve: 28.5
    Bicep: 16
    Waist: 34
    Back Length: 25
    * note: measurements in inches and done by my tailor

To sum up everything, the jacket fits perfect, looks great and definitely adds that 007 swagger to ones step.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

The Y-3 is the jacket when JB is on the motorcycle, right?

Is it still available? Where did you buy it?

Yes. The Y-3 jacket, or at least in my case, the very similar Y-3 jacket, is the jacket that Bond was wearing during the motorcycle scene. As for availability, it's hard to say. I picked mine up at High Grade at West Edmonton Mall, it was the last one they had and was on sale for $220 Canadian. Here's the link to their web site, maybe they have a sister store in Montreal or if nothing else, can point you in the right direction: http://www.highgradeclothing.com/

    Hope this helps.

I saw this very different version of the Y3 Jacket on Gilt.com. It's a more royale blue Y-3 Cotton Twill Jacket. I especially like the closure up top with the stripes. It's going for $78.00 but they're only have M and L Left.

Not screen accurate but very interesting.

Unfortunately they only have products for 2 days then move on to the next round. But they have had Dupont products on there before and I'm sure they will pop up again. Sign up for their emails and you will get a notification every morning before the sale which will inform you of the brands they are carrying that day. Sorry about the confusion.

Hmm, the closure and pockets make it look like a Y-3/Harrington combination.

So I'm guessing theirs not to many of us then. Oh well, Canada Represent.

Anyway, the Y-3/Harrington combo jacket looks interesting, not quite my style though. That being said, I'm not sold on that colour either, maybe if it was a darker/deeper blue it would look better.

does anyone have the old navy or Burlington coat factory versions? I'm a fan of budget alternatives, and I'd love to know how these stack up.
