Sad to hear that Jerry Robinson, who worked with Bob Kane on the batman Comics and came up with Robin and The Joker has Died. I've always loved both Bond and Batman as Characters.

This is the sort of news I'd love to tell my Dad, who grew up with that generation of Tarzan films, but I just don't think he'd believe me that the chimp was still alive at 80. :(

It seems there is some doubt over whether this chimp was the real deal. http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2011/dec/28/chimp-cheeta-cheetah-tarzan-dies?newsfeed=true :(

It only took me until summer last year to realise that the contestants on Blockbusters were all students. As a school boy, giggling at "I'll have a P please Bob", I thought they were all real grown ups!

    God speed, Bob!

Lost my father on Tuesday. Visitation tonight; funeral tomorrow.

He was a guitarist par excellence---owned a music store, taught guitar, had a dance band called the Echo's Four that played all over the state for 20 years. A philosopher, a deep thinker, a complex man who thought himself simple. A sometimes difficult man, but a great one. And a great father. The hole he leaves in my life is breathtaking.

    Rest in peace, Pop.

Nicol Williamson, who played Merlin in Excalibur, and also did a very good Hamlet, died before Christmas, but the news has only just been released.

Why the silence? Williamson was a fine actor and was fairly well known. . .he'll be missed.

And so goes another childhood memory. . . Robert Hegyes, best known as Juan Epstein from the '70s comedy Welcome Back, Kotter, has died of a heart attack at what now is a fairly young age: 60.

I just read about his passing on AICN. Nicole Williamson appeared in quite a few movies that I've enjoyed over the years. I was surprised to read that he could be a demanding and even difficult actor to work with and that the last years of his life were spent in utter poverty. I guess that's how it sometimes goes with artists so commited to their craft. R.I.P.
