Bond's watch in SPECTRE

I know the value of product placement, especially in a film franchise such as Bond. You only have to look at how it has fitted in with the "rebranding" of Aston Martin and Omega. Although Sony's recent decision to leave the Computer/PC making industry will surely leave a Vaio shaped hole in upcoming films; I wonder if Apple are already seeking to fill that.

However, that aside I was thinking about the reception a British-made watch would receive on the forums. Something along the lines of the Bremont range, with most models being made in Henley-on-Thames of all places (yes I realise a few are produced in Switzerland).

Certainly I wouldn't mind one of these myself, and as they are a major supplier to the US military already, how about gracing the wrist of Britain's most celebrated public servant?

It's a nice watch. But I must say that I've paid virtually no attention to the type of watch Bond wears in any of the movies.

Wish they'd stick with the Rolex Submariner, tradition and all that. :D

That is a pretty sick watch, but I don't see them breaking the partnership with Omega. It has become part of Craig's Bond persona. Perhaps the next Bond, though I'd rather see a return to a British tailor for his suits.

Also, goodness 5 Vespers? Either you were shaking them for quite a long time or you ended up on your arse for a good while.

It's probably Omega for the foreseeable future. If only Rolex would make a new, modern Bond watch. But I don't see the Bond going back to Rolex any time soon. It would have happened for Skyfall.

Those Bremonts do look pretty good. But I'm not a multiple watch person.

And I guess Bond movies will get Lenovo or HP computers. It's strange seeing Sony abandon so much. There was a time when Sony stuff was tops in tech. Now Sony almost only equals PlayStation.

I thought, based on the picture posted, I was going to hate these. Looking at the website I am happy to say I was wrong and they make some damn fine looking watches. However, as a biased Omega wearer, I hope they stick with Omega for at least Craig's tenure.

I hope they keep the Planet Ocean for Craigs next movies. They suit his style very well, better than the SMP in my opinion.

If Bremont is willing to sign a $ 50.000.000 contract, I am sure that we'll see that watch in B24 :D

Although watches are really an Old mans Kind of thing these days, as most
of us young guys use our phones almost like modern "Pocket watches ". :D
So maybe it's time to drop the whole idea of Bond even wearing a watch ? :p

Of course when you inadvertently let your phone run out of battery… on a far flung mission 00smartphone, I'll be there with my automatic watch to tell you that you are late for your rendezvous with the slinky female agent in the casino… missing out to your watch-wearing nemesis :))

In truth the time is here when the smartphone will be controlled from a wristwatch/computer anyway. Samsung are there already and I am sure Apple have something in mind too.

Although until there get a proper watch designer/company in to make a watch / smartphone control that looks good enough for people to want them, as the ones
I've seen so far look like early digital watches from the 70s. :))

I have yet to see a good smartphone or digital watch that I like. Omega made the best one with that NASA watch. But the new version doesn't look as good. Even though people will go crazy when Apple makes one, I doubt I will. But I don't have an iPhone, iPod, or anything either.

I hope Bond never goes back to the Roger Moore digital watch just to have it.

I agree totally, and with Welshboy78 that Samsung have a long way to go with their smart watch.

Jaeger Lecoultre have watches that will open and start a linked Aston Martin DBS. So the future does look fun for those with the budget.
I can't seem to quite get the hang of starting my VW Golf with my Seiko Divers watch though.

Bring on the Rolex iSea Dweller I say, or the Omega iPlanet Ocean.

Back to standard watches, I personally have my eye on a Tudor Heritage Chrono Blue.

being a spy ,the idea is to blend in ,not be noticed ,although I love the whole Rolex Omega thing, (don't we all)
they will get you noticed im sure agents like welshboy will have a similar story, I was in a swim up bar in cable beach Nassua, :p
when this rather loud American (sorry Americans) shouted out to his mate on the other side of the bar
"hey this guy has a $10,000 dollar watch on ," well theres my cover blown :))
By the way, did I tell you, I was "Mad"?

I must be honest, the only watch that I've ever been asked about is my Seamaster and just like in Casino Royale the question was "Rolex?"

Unfortunately for me it was not a beautiful girl asking the question but some bloke with a dodgy beard lol

I've had a lot more comments on my Seiko Orange Monster than on my Seamaster. I think the Seamster is pretty inconspicuous compared to other 'luxury' watches. And there are so many fake submariners around that most people won't believe you are actually wearing a real one. And then there are people like my girlfriend who thinks that all dive watches look alike. :)) 'What do you mean you like that watch, you have one just like it?!?!' Use that to your advantage mate - I do!! My missus thinks about three of mine are the same watch!

It was the bracelet which attracted attention on my seamaster rather then the watch - the polished links etc which I guess can look a bit flash

Why not put Bond in a Bremont watch, something like a Codebreaker or ALT1C.
Bond with a British watch driving a British car.
Also Bremont claims to have links with the armed forces.
