Hi, my name is Steve from California, home of the Drax Estate. I've been a Bond fan since I was 6 when I dressed up as Jaws for Halloween. This is the first time partaken in an internet chat site like this but I can't contain my desire to talk bout Bond any longer. I don't know many Bond fanatics in my area, and my wife is getting a little irritated with me babbling on about Bond movies. Lately I've been listening to all of the James Bond Radio podcasts and that made me realize there are a lot of Band fans out there. I hope to make some friends, but I have a family so the time I have to spend here will be limited. My favorite Bond movie is Moonraker, with, TSWLM, FRWL, Goldfinger, and DAF close behind. My favorite book is Goldfinger, but I haven't read many of them. I plan to soon. My favorite Bond is Sir Roger, but I love all of them. I can't say I have a least favorite. The only Bond locations I've ever been to were the Whyte House in Vegas, and The Golden Gate Bridge. The only Bond related celebrity I've ever met was Richard Kiel at a nerd convention. Also I love any John Barry music. Sorry about the user name. I was trying to be clever but it's a little too long.
This is MR-9 from Bangladesh!! A good fan of James Bond movies. My first encounter with 007 was FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE at a local theater but as far I can recall it was terribly cut to make it short & feature along with some other action film X-( . Like most you guys, I also grew up watching Bond movies and love almost every one of them! My most favorites are From Russia with Love, The Spy who Loved Me, The Living Daylights, GoldenEye and Casino Royale.
Married & father of a beautiful little girl who is just now 1 & half year old.
Anyway, like to let you know that my nick "MR-9" is actually the code name of Masud Rana...the Bangladeshi James Bond!! Masud Rana is a very popular and most longest (& still) running series in our country that started back in 1966. Though the character & many of the major stories mainly inspired by Ian Fleming's original James Bond series & movies but later gradually expanded widely; from Alistair MacLean's thrillers to different western spy thrillers as well as it adapted foreign cross genre action novels, stories and even sometimes straight from Hollywood movies also. If you like you can find more details in this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masud_Rana.
I've already introduced myself but I feel the urge ) to tell you how refreshing it is to read all the positive stuff about the various James Bond movies and the actors. And interesting too.
I really needed that dose of positivity and I am glad to be here. The respect that people have for each other is delightful.
I also like these emoticons -{ :007) I sure will use them a lot )

^ no that's fine )
You'll get plenty of diverse opinions here, both positive and negative - but I find most people try and explain why it's a 'negative' for them...
As for respect...on the whole it's good...but can get tricky at times
so been a long time away from posting on a bond forum, and needed to get on one pronto, and you poor suckas are going to LIKE IT!
so google'd the top one listed and here it is, and very nice it is too!
been a huge bondian for well ..... a long time ever since the eighties ..... even before seeing the billboard for MOONRAKER in blackpool and was quite tempted to go see it ..... but alas i did not!
the first one i saw in the cinema was LICENSE TO KILL, funny story ..... the movie was projected a little off, because it wasn't horizontally aligned properly, so a little bit of the top was at the BOTTOM!
didn't ruin it, and i went to see it again
and not until the superlative daniel craig movies did i go back to the big screen to see a bond movie again, but what movies!
CASINO ROYALE is practically THE perfect bond movie, saw it four times in the cinema and numerous on dvd and tv
QUANTUM OF SOLACE was almost a BIG disappointment for me, given it's rawbone editing, but that has some delicious moments in it!
SKYFALL is as smooth as a galaxy chocolate bar, and almost too well done though, but highly enjoyable
as for SPECTRE .....
got about half of them on dvd and skyfall n bluray, but plan to get the rest ..... eventually
so sit back, strap on the jetpack ..... and crash and burn as i give you all post after post of utter nonsense

I do believe I'm checking out for a while; the intolerant political climate has regrettably become most inhospitable, and it will become increasingly difficult for me to discuss Bond in one thread while being baited and taunted by name in another.
I'm very disappointed that this is necessary. Perhaps I'll look back in when there's news on the #25 or Bond actor fronts.
Adieu.

I am known by many names but here I am known as CanuckBondFan8048. I have been a fan of the franchise since the mid 1990s. My first ever Bond movie was Goldeneye. Not my favorite Bond movie but it was entertaining. My favorite actor to have played 007 is Sean Connery. I could go on but I do not want to bore the other members. Nice to meet you all.
