A lot is uncertain about the next Bond movie, including lead actor, title, plot, director and other details. But thankfully there is work that can start allready. Casting for a hot French actress, almost certainly a brunette, is happening in Paris as we speak. We also know location scouting is nearly finished in Italy, Turkey and the Alps region. Good to know some things are constant in a changing world. :)

We also know scenes will be shot in Denmark standing in for Norway. "The steep hills, fjords and mountains of Denmark is a perfect fit for the Norwegian west coast!" said a press release from EON. The perseptive cinemagoer knows this has worked in the past, but in reverse. In several key scenes in "The Danish Girl" the fjords of Norway were used as shooting location standing in for rural Denmark. It was completely convinsing:

I hear your pain, Barbel. I also happen to know that when Denmark stands in for Norway, it leaves at least one Norwegian Blue.

Very true, in fact you've nailed it there.

I have great news for you, Barbel. The Brasilian jungle scenes will be shot in December just outside Edinburgh :)

:D Yes, that area is noted for its remarkable resemblance to the S. American rainforest.

Little known fact, but the word "Edinburgh" derives from the Olde Gaelic word for "Equatorial."

Actually the rainfall here, in Scotland and in the rainforest must be about the same.

This just leaked, Bond 25 will see Bond back behind the wheel of his most famous car...

"Producers of the highly successful and oft-copied James Bond films have broken their silence regarding the situation regarding the next James Bond film due out sometime in the future. In their long-awaited press release they have revealed an interesting and exciting nugget of information that has Bond fans the world over slavering at the mouth in anticipation, and it relates to Bond's most famous car...
'Obviously fans want the same thing, film in, film out' a source from Eon (codenamed - Cauliflower) stated, 'And we like hashing over the same ridiculous formulas with elements borrowed from classics such as Austin Powers and The Dark Knight trilogy. Bond 25 will feature more of the same and I can exclusively reveal that Bond will be seen driving a silver birch 1964 Aston Martin DB5. This car will feature an interchangeable driving position allowing Bond to switch from left to right hand drive, and feature antiquated weaponry and gadgets which in spite of being obsolete for decades many fans will still speculate that he has had Q Branch fit them as a back hander because Bond is always in danger from his evil foster brother, especially when nipping round to Tesco Express for a bottle of plonk, a microwave lasagne and a copy of the Racing Post, and really needs these silly things.'
When pressed for more information our source was silenced by another Eon official (code-named: Moustachioed Cameo) who administered a mild sedative and dragged her away."

    So there you have it...

I really hope Daniel makes one more film.
I rewatched all of his films and I get that Spectre somewhat closes the series but they could easily make another one. Daniel really grew into the role and when each film ended I thought to myself "wow that's James Bond!" Until then it seems he is busy with tv shows and theater?

I loved Spectre to be honest, more than the other Craig films. Skyfall is second for me, followed by Casino Royale and Quantum Of Solace. I would love Daniel Craig to come back and do a fifth movie, he at least would have done one more than Pierce Brosnan. He will be around 50 though, if everyone is OK with his increasing age.

Inside sources say the bear from The Revenant is cast in the next Bond movie. Is this the new henchman?
This comfirms the theory that EON wants a more intelectual heavy with more lines than mr Hinx.

I'm absolutely delighted by this news, Number24. Bears have long been overlooked in Hollywood. In an early black and white version of "Jungle Book", Baloo was actually played by an eastern lowland gorilla wearing heavy make-up, if you can believe it!
  • IanTIanT Posts: 573MI6 Agent
I think that bears should be used more often in films. Have you noticed that NO bears were nominated for an Oscar - EVER?!?!?!?

This has to stop - NOW!

But credit to EON for casting a cat in Spectre. A step in the right direction.

The cat in SP, Tiddles V, is actually the great-great-granddaughter of Tiddles who first appeared in FRWL. Her stunt double, Kitty Galore, had to eat the Siamese fighting fish since Tiddles preferred mice and ruined shot after shot refusing to eat the offered fish.

Unfortunately kitty galore's career came to a dramtic end when filming YOLT, mistaking the piranhas for siamese fighting fish and having missed breakfast she was dragged in and eaten alive.
It was either that.....or the priesthood
  • BarbelBarbel ScotlandPosts: 36,052Chief of Staff
...which is why Tiddles herself (or possibly Tiddles II by this time) had to do the scene where Blofeld shoots Osato- frightened by the "bang" she jumped down from Blofeld's arm and using the trans-dimensional power known only to felines managed to disappear completely (see for yourself! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Haevrr4uAlw )

Since Kitty was made of sterner stuff, it had originally been planned that she would double for Tiddles- but the unfortunate piranha incident put paid to that idea.

Having lost two of their star purr-formers on YOLT, Eon's regular supplier Cats-Fur-Rent doubled their price when Cubby called them just before shooting OHMSS. He wasn't willing to pay this much...

    "These are outrageous terms!" AA_OLD_MAN.jpg

...so instead he contacted what he thought was a rival supplier, Pussies-For-Hire, whose number George Lazenby just happened to have on him. Realising quickly that he had made a terrible mistake, Cubby abashedly phoned Cats-Fur-Rent back and agreed to their terms.
