Iconic Alternatives Reader Appreciation Contest

Hi All!
Unbelievably, on December 1st, Iconic Alternatives will be 1 year old. To celebrate and say, "Thank You!" I am having a Reader Appreciation Contest. After asking Sir Miles, he suggested starting a new, short term thread about the Contest in case anyone has questions, etc.

The Contest will run from today (November 26th) until midnight GMT -6 November 30th. To enter the contest, you just need to go to the page linked below and complete a short entry form near the bottom of the post. This is actually more of sweepstakes or a draw than a contest. So no skill involved.

http://www.iconicalternatives.com/2016/11/26/first-anniversary-reader-appreciation-contest/

The contest is open to anyone over the age of 21 ('cause we're giving away alcohol!!! {[] ) from the U.S. and mainland UK. I know that excludes some excellent members of the community here, and my apologies. :( But I have some very cool things planned for early next year that I hope will make up for this!

On December 1st, we will be drawing the names from a hat and announcing the winners on the site! That's about it!

What can you win? We have 5 different prize packages:

Prize-Package-1-Cumbria-Crystal-and-Macallan.jpg

This package includes two Grasmere DOF tumblers and The Macallan!

Little-Details-Prize-Package-Social-4.jpg

If you win this one, you can select any one of the ties from Indy's Bond reproductions and either the blue or the white Mr. Fish shirt.

Herring-Shoes-Mustangs-Prize-Social-4.jpg

Herring Mustangs

Bond-at-Home-Prize-Package-Social-4.jpg

This one also includes 100 Chemex filters. In case you didn't know, Matt Sherman is Bond Collectors' Weekends! I also had no idea he was an author until he mentioned his book!

Gagliardi-Dinner-Jacket-Package-Social-3.jpg

Full dinner jacket/semi-formal set up from Gagliardi!

There you go! Of course, I have to give a shout out to all the incredible sponsors. I'm sure it wasn't an easy decision for them to give a prize to a website they'd never heard of before. But they did. And they were all absolutely great to deal with.

If anyone has any questions, comments or suggestions about the Contest, just post here. That way the Budget Bond Collectors Resource thread won't get derailed.

Thanks again to the great community here at AJB! You guys (and gals) are what make this fun!

Good luck!
John

    Very cool canoe2.

Is Canada considered part of the US for this contest or no?

Sadly, no. I'm Canadian, so it kinda broke my heart to cut us out. But honestly, the logistics were starting to get a little crazy for the sponsors and I wanted to keep it simple for them.

I will echo the sentiment. Very cool.

A pity those of us in the US can't win the scotch and tumblers. Still a lot of great prizes.

That you were able to get all these sponsors to contribute is truly remarkable. {[]

Those tumblers would have been sweet :# Still though, what an amazing group of prizes, this is truly an amazing thing! Glad that the Bond community is so cool and that we all get to have such a ball together "bonding" over our shared interests. I hope I don't get disqualified for the most blatantly cheap and obvious pun :D

    Awesome contest-- thanks so much for not only this, but all you do on Iconic Alternatives, canoe2! -{

Is it a matter of nationality or can you participate if you have addresses in the US/UK? :)

    Wow! Great prizes!
    Nicely done. :007)

Mantis, Westward_Drift, coaram94 and UNCLE27: Thank you, gentlemen!

hcantrell: I'll let you off with a warning this time ... this time :v

Jacob Mortensen: It's more about shipping address. If you have a U.S. or UK physical address you can use (for example a friend or relatives house; not a P.O. Box) then use the country of that address when you submit your entry. Once the prize is delivered by the sponsor, getting it the rest of the way would be up to you. Hope that helps!

I had no idea you were a fellow Canuck. Are you in the Toronto area?

No. I'm an ex-pat now living a life of adventure abroad! But I was born in Barrie and went to UofT if that counts! {[]

If anyone is on the fence about entering, don't be. It's way too easy to enter and there are some seriously awesome prizes. As a contributor to the site, I'm not entering; so, I can only get excited viracriously thourgh you guys. Even if you aren't interested in any of the prizes, you should enter because you can always "donate" your winning to someone else... ya know, maybe like someone who "missed out" on entering :D

Charmed & Dangerous messaged me that he was having some problems entering so I wanted to check it worked for him in the end.

Don't worry canoe 2 I'm the unluckiest person in the world when it comes to competitions, I've never won a thing in my life, that includes school raffles that I must have spent a fortune on over the years :(

:)) well according to canoe2 I shouldn't have even been allowed to enter! Seriously I don't play the lottery or anything like that purely based on me being born under bad sign. I used to do a pub quiz with a friend of mine and after winning it 3 weeks on the trot they banned us from playing anymore! first prize was only a tenner for God's sake!

How am I suppose to win if you all keep entering? :D

Getting a chuckle that this thread is often located next to the TF Harrington Project thread. One celebrates the frugal and the other celebrates the "SA but not frugal." :))

That could become a rivalry as epic as the "Props vs. Clothing" one! :))

For anyone that hasn't entered yet, please remember that the deadline for entry is midnight GMT -6 November 30th. Thanks!
