I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination but one can see that the rear sight is a different colour to the rest of the frame/slide and with considerably less wear, suggesting a custom job.

After market for sure. And not a great job at that. there's something else wrong about that PPK, but I can't put my finger on it ?:)
It looks like a dogs dinner, trigger guard looks like a replacement as does the trigger and barrel , it appears to be sticking out too far from the front of the slide, as for the milling on the frame
This is a later Zella probably dating from around 1945 which has a slight variant on the safety catch assembly. The earlier Zella safety catch levers point to the E on the Walther banner where the later slides (this one) the lever points to the T on the Walther banner making this a second generation Zella. This is also the case on all of Bond's ULM PPK pistols. This is not a particularly noticeable feature however subconsciously the eye is drawn to it. I also believe this may have been put together from component parts. I can't tell from the photos but the grips do not look like a one piece unit. If it wasn't for the factory engraving I'd swear it was a Japanese MGC or similar replica -{

Dalton's pistol has a post - war rear sight. I think the "Zella" in LTK may have been in the Maurice Binder credits, but was not in the film proper. The handles on Dalton's PPK were by Sile who provided them to Walther for sale as OEM. Lot's of fake Dalton pistols out there, including one in the NRA Museum.
Well the new magazine arrived from USA but as expected it was a newer style finger extension not the older one. Still one step closer

That's the Smith and Wesson version. Earl's sell the Interarms and Walther variant you want, they aren't an older version. It's just the S&W that's different.

My bad just noticed similar mags on the newer version of PPK on the Walther website that was all. Any way it's black and matches grips so will do for now. It's been a real pain in the butt getting any version mag sent to the UK especially from the US sites (UK sites did not stock then even this on bought via UK site came from US stock).

What’s the difference the base material used I.e rubber vs something else.
I was looking for the one of these for years ultimately picked up a de activated (or butchered) one with silencer
Look like pretty accurate copies just like they have used in the later films.
