Morland Specials Reproduction

As some of you may know, I’ve been working on a project to put together a replica of the “Morland Specials” James Bond smokes in most of Ian Fleming’s novels for the last couple of years. I’ve had all the details done for probably the last year and a half, but had some problems with quality control of the golden Morland logos on the box tops. I’ve figured out the problem and now can offer a few of these for those who have asked.
These will be exactly the same as the ones used in episode 3 “SPIES” of the BBC4 production of “Sleuths, Spies, and Sorcerers” which aired last year.
You’ll receive
- The box with period correct blue leatherette cover paper with gold embossed logo. The colors look different between the BBC screen cap and the photo I took myself, but it is the same material. The color shifts considerably based on the lighting.
- 15 “Morland Special” cigarettes designed based on vintage samples. You will not be able to smoke these, but they will look/feel like genuine tobacco cigarettes suitable for display.
- A “Three Rings” info sheet inside the box
- The box will feature a synthetic cotton insert to protect the contents and absorb moisture
- A “reciept” of purchase with Morland Letterhead.
Price will be $95 plus actual shipping costs. In the US, add $8 which will cover Priority Shipping. For other countries, contact me first and I’ll get a total. After setting aside sets for the people who had partnered with me on this project, I have 5 sets ready for shipping next week. First come, first serve. I may be able to do additional runs, but I’d have to contact you if and when that would be available.
DISCLAIMER: I’ve been away from the boards for the past year or so and have been made aware that there was another similar run of these made by someone else who had also been working on the same project. While it’s possible we both used some of the same shared original vintage reference material, all of the of my work is my own and done independently as my original project thread will attest.
