Just received an email from John Varvatos stating that they have bought back the Suede Racer Jacket!

The link is here: http://www.johnvarvatos.com/exclusive-suede-racer-jacket/L855R1L-Y668.html?trk_msg=I2EKT0E8JRJKT85JJK1FRS74HG&trk_contact=IFNBVVSPDUF8A2DL88H99HAURS&trk_sid=AQRCOUT4OCQ5767KSGLT7K6CS4&utm_source=Listrak&utm_medium=Email&utm_term=http%3a%2f%2fwww.johnvarvatos.com%2fexclusive-suede-racer-jacket%2fL855R1L-Y668.html&utm_campaign=07.20_%22Bond%22_Jacket

I was fortunate to get mine before in their "2nd order" but I hope it will be good news for anyone wanting to get one who wasn't able to before.

I love mine and wear it frequently!

    According to the website it's in the screen accurate color Marine and the Style Number: L855R1L-Y668, matches up with the screen accurate Style Number.

    Would love it if JV re-released their split-seam "The Martian" jacket in a tan/natural colour, I would buy that in a heartbeat! Might have to create a bunch of fake email addresses and spam them with requests :v

    Me too, if they did it under the Star USA line at under $900 instead of main line for $1900.

    Pity the only one to turn up for sale was a size 50.

    I would like a re-release of the brown, but a tan version would be nice.

    Agreed on the Martian jacket idea... Would much rather own that than the Matchless.. I just couldn't bring myself to ever support that brand..

    it is a shame they're now a lot more than in 2015. They were only £450 then. Never mind.

    They were on clearance back then.

    Could someone kindly advise on sizing of the JV? I take a large in the matchless and a medium in the menlo. I also have a Belstaff Ethan which is large (with long arms!). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi Geosam

    I have the Matchless in a Large and JV in medium. I found the chest of the Matchless tighter and also went for the longer arm length

    Hope this helps

    There's a Martian jacket in large on eBay for $1500....

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/John-Varvatos-Collection-The-Martian-Split-Seam-Suede-Jacket-Large-/172566610280

    Or Varvatos seems to have a new budget alternative to the jacket, but it seems in color only, as none of the other details are there.........

    I was looking to buy the Suede jacket. I just found out its made in china. Was the Original made in China? How is the quality of the jacket; like fabric and stitching?

    Yes, original was made in China. Most JV stuff is. I found the stitching perfect on the ones I owned. Quality was very good. Suede felt great and the zippers were very solid.

    As for the Martain Jacket the one on eBay is the size 50 that was offered for sale on this forum a while back.

    I am the owner of the Martian jacket the one on eBay. It is a really high quality jacket and has a great color. I didn't want to promote it here too much since it isn't a direct bond item. I've been following the forum for a long time with a great pleasure but silently so I didn't want to be seen as using it for my own benefit only when I need it. If there is an interest, I will be more than happy to sell it to a fellow ajber for $1200. -{

    I wonder if this run will have the original cotton on the inside of the collar and zip or the suede finishing from the most recent run that sold out a couple of months ago?

    Hello there!
    Could anyone kindly help me with the sizing problem of this jacket?
    I have a 36 chest 175cm tall and I almost wear every jacket in XS, including the Menlo and the Billy Reid coat.
    But I mostly concerned is the JV jacket's. body and sleeves length…
    Does anyone knows the actual measurements of size XS an S?

    I remember someone here buying one in a S I think then having to return it because the sleeves were way too long (around your size). Mantis has one in M and he's 5'8 1/2 but a 40 inch chest and his sleeves seem to fit nicely (remember, it's a "motorcycle jacket" so slightly longer sleeves ar normal) based on his video.

    I'm an XL and I've tried on the jacket at my local JV store and an XL fit me perfectly. Granted this was when the jacket first came out. I don't know if the sizing is the same with the reissue. -{

    If you're a 36, I think a Small will fit you. I'm a 44 (34) in most brands and I have a small JV that is in work if you want it. I also take an XS in the BR peacoat, but had to tailor it down further. The meaurements of the small are as follows:
    Pit to pit:19.25in
    Shoulder to shoulder:17in
    Sleeves:25.25in
    Overall length under collar:24.5in
    Hope this helps. PM for more details if interested -{

    Thank you so much for replying!

    I did wrote a mail to the JV customer service, asked about the same question but didn't get any reply... ?:)

    I forgot to mention I'm not a tall guy(175cm), and the sleeves of most ready to wear jackets are usually 1.5 or 2 inch too long for me.

    So I think I'll go with the XS, and I hope it would fit.

    Still I deeply appreciate your help, thank you!

    I am sorry, I haven't but I manage to.

    Also, I email to JV for the XS measurements again, and luckly they did reply!

    If anyone want to know, here they are...

    Size XS measurements

    Shoulder: 17-17.5"

    Chest: 34-36"

    Waist: 24-27"

    Body length: 24"

    Sleeves: 24.75"

    Those measurements are provided by JV, I don't know why they didn't told me the "exact" numbers but a range...

    they also list the size S measurements

    Chest: 37-39"

    Sleeves: 25.5"

    waist: 28-30"

    I hope these imformations can help people with the sizing problem.
