I just saw the two first episodes of "Midnight sun", a Swedish/French crime series. Much of the story takes place in Swedish Lappland and Sami culture is a theme. A Frenchman is killed in Lappland in a bizarre way and a female French/Arabic police woman is sent to work with the local police.
I think the series looks promising and I'll keep watching.

But after reading a bit in British newspapers it turns out TP isn't only ones comparing Marcus & Martinus to Jedward (Jedfjord?) or to find them scary like Lady Rose did. I don't understand why they can be seen as scary, perhaps someone can enlighten me? ?:) :))

For some reason 'Village of The Damned' sprung to mind but I'm sure they are actually quite sweet.

Jedward are very strange. I saw them last on Celebrity Big Brother and they were very odd. Bearing in mind they are now 25 or something they are definitely on Planet Jedward :)) :))

I thought our entry was pretty good this year. The funny thing about Eurovision is that our best chance of hosting it these days is if Australia win !! :#

:)) I love the " Village of the damned " analogy.

I never saw The Village of the Damned, so I didn't make that connection. I also never listen to tween/teen pop, so I had no idea who they were. I just thought they had strange haircuts and strange hybrid dialects. They seldom said or did anything to indicate they were popstars, but sometimes there were funny situations. One time some adult from another part of the country bragged of how many friends they had on facebook. Marcus asked how many, and the reply was a few thousand. They nodded politely and said nothing of the army of friends they have on FB. :))

I've been watching " White Gold" a comedy set in the early 80s about double glazing salesmen. Very funny.

I just saw the last episode of the Swedish/French crime series Midnight Sun. The murderer is......
Just joking. I think the series is good, the locations are above average and there are many good characters.
I think the Sami people are portrayed as more exotic than they really are in 2017, but it works for the story.

    - It's Canada.

    From Agents of SHIELD. :D

I've just finished 'Designated Survivor' ... A bit like 24 but without all the running around. :D

I suppose Keifer Sutherland is getting a bit old for all that malarky now.

Have now moved onto 'Goliath' with Billy BoB Thornton ... it has a 'Californication' vibe to it ... very watchable though.

The six-part TV comedy "The Norsmen" ("Vikingane") is now bought by Netflix.
It can best e described as The Office set in the viking age :D

    8346.jpg

The series was filmed both in Norwegian and in heavily accented English. Highly recomended!

    "English" trailer:

One of the actors in the series is Silje Torp, who can also be seen in "Lillihammer". I still think she would be a perfect henchwoman in a Bond movie :007)

Anybody spot Bérénice Marlohe on the new season of Twin Peaks last night? Tiny role, imagine wont be seen again on the series.

Believe Bellucci due to appear also.

Lots of characters this season and all seem to get tiny screen time

I just finished watching season 6 of Homeland. As usual the acting and craft is first rate. I still think Rupert Friend could become a good James Bond. The plot takes place in NY and the president elect is a woman. A right-wing radio host hates her and calls his supporters and himself "deplorables". The last episode is even called "America first"! At that point I had serious doubts about where the show was heading. Homeland has always been at its best when it companies complex characters with a plot that reflects real world events, but really? But then the show avoid that mistake by giving the story a surprising twist in the last part of the last season. So don't give up Homeland yet, it's smarter than what one might suspect during the last few episodes.

Well, what Rupert did to Hitman (although he shares the fault with many other people) is unforgivable.
It'd be a pity for him to play 007 but he is a good actor.
    a reasonable rate of return

I saw it too, but I don't think it was bad because of him. In addition to Homeland I've seen him in "The boy in the striped pyjamas " "Cheri" and "Young Victoria". He was good in all of them, so I don't think one bad movie should exclusive him. Rupert Friend is also the right age, nationality, age, height and level of fame. He also has the right look.

Only because i seen this on tv yesterday. I saw the advertisement for the new film and in it was starring Daniel Craig. I suppose every body will already know this. I can not remember what the film is called though.

" Mixed Doubles ". Which showed our two heroes
Preparing to protect a visiting VIP, while also showing
The two man hit team in their preparations to try and
    Kill the VIP.

The fall season hasn't started on TV yet, so there isn't anything good on TV. The TV headquarters is in Oslo where it doesn't rain, so they think people are outside in the sun. no need for good TV :#
At least the election debates start tonight, but they are not very entertaining because the politicians have some dignity ....

just watched Season 5 of Veep

gotta feel bad for these fastthinking comic geniuses
even with Elaine Benes, Bertie Wooster and Buster Bluth in charge of the free world, they couldn't come up with anything half as ridiculous as reality has done in the meantime. ...at least this version of incompetence in high places is just makebelieve, so that's a nice thought

must give credit to Julia Louise-Dreyfuss, she showed off finer acting chops here than anything I've seen her do before, the episode where her mother dies of a stroke and she only shows emotion when she learns she's lost the Nevada recount is deeply disturbing yet gut-wrenching funny at the same time

the episode where we see the documentary her daughters been filming all season is mighty good too, I had to keep rewinding and pausing to catch all the densely packed jokes within that one (Wikipedia tells me Sarah Sutherland is actually the daughter of Kiefer, therefor granddaughter of Donald and greatgrandaughter of Canadian politician Tommy Douglas)

I assumed this must be the last season, what with the rather conclusive ending, and reality being funnier and all, but I see there has now been a sixth season

I'm watching season 2 of Gotham. I think it's improved since the first season. I liked the take on Gotham during Bruce Wayne's childhood, but got the feeling that nothing really bad would happen to the regulars since we all know who will survive until Bruce becomes Batman.
But to my great surprise one of the central characters in the Batman universe died this season. Suddenly it feels like much more things can happen and far fewer characters are guaranteed to survive the series. Nice.

Watching a whole load of stuff at the moment ... non of which is gripping me but I am finding watchable

'Startup' on Amazon with Martin Freeman

    'Shooter' on Netflix

'Alpha House' on Amazon ... amusing but nothing based at the White House these days is as ludicrous as what is really happening there.

'Suits' ... same old watchable fluff (Louis Litt perhaps one of TV's greatest characters)

'Ray Donovan' ... very disappointing so far but Jon Voight always good value.

Quacks a new BBC comedy with Rory Kinnear and in episode two Andrew Scott
Very funny, set in the late 18 century all the remedies use were real for the time,
    and some are crazy.

"Norsemen" is now available on Netflix. If you only watch one viking comedy TV-series this year, watch "Norsemen"! All dialoge in English with genuine Norwegian accents :D

Great tip! I'm watching the first episode on Youtube now. The simmularities between PM Chamberlain's Tarrif Reform policy and the "America first" policy of Trump seem striking.

Tonight there is ohmss on the television. I will be watching this. It is only the second time of watching this film for me. I think it is different to other James Bond films but I like it anyway.
