I see today on the news that a englishman has been killed by a crocodile in sri Lanka. He was washing his hands in the water. This must be a lesson to peoples who visit places where the crocodiles live. Do not go near the waters edge or back to the same place two times.

In Australia the crocs will try to pull you into the water should you sleep on the Beach.......

    "Husband disappointed over the sentence"

Well , duh......The boy who killed those two will only do 11 yrs behind bars.

The boy owed money and the woman just happened to be there , both stabbed 30 (!) times :o

Even though the killer was just sixteen years old at the time I have no problem understanding the husband.

The lawyer thinks 11 yrs is too harsh.......right 8-)

I just looked at some numbers for voter turn out in national elections. Some countries (real demomacracies) have over 90% voter turn out. Some countries like my own are in the 70-80% bracket. I honestly wasn't surprised to find the US near the bottom at right under 50%, but I was surprised to find Switzerland even a little bit lower. Why? Can you enlighten me BJB006?
  • HigginsHiggins GermanyPosts: 16,618MI6 Agent
My guess would be because of direct democracy and permanent referendums several times a year.

In Switzerland they don't elect every 4 or five years.

I though of that too. Could the sheer number of referendums and elections because of the direct democracy model lead to voter fatigue and lower voter turnout in national elections? (I sounded like a newspaper article there....) Do they simply vote "too often"?

I'd say they do vote too often in Switzerland, and yes, that does tend to lead to voter apathy.

Probably a wise career move for DC to continue as James Bond, Despite Logan Lucky getting fair reviews it's hardly been box office gold, and now "Kings" is attracting early criticism and a down right slamming http://www.vulture.com/2017/09/what-the-hell-is-daniel-craig-doing-in-this-la-riots-movie.html

Did you know Adolf Hitler was nominated for the Nobel peace prize? A Swede nominated him in 1939 as a joke, but pulled the nominasjon when he discovered many of his countrymen thought he was serious... :#

Yes, she has disapointed a lot of people. Awarding a Nobel's peace prize is often to take a chance, and sometimes you lose.

Right now I'm in West Africa for a crusade and I would like you to get in touch with my wife in the United states for more discussion as she is with the keys and the documents to the apartment. Please I want you to note that, I am a kind and honest man and also I spent a lot on my property, so I will solicit for your absolute maintenance of this apartment and I want you to treat it as your own. I want you to keep it tidy all the time so that I will be glad to see it neat when I come for a check up, I do that once in a while. I want to have trust in you as I always stand by my words. Let us know how soon you are willing to move in. Email my wife Sandra ( properrentalapt@gmail.com ) and she will attend to you better.
