Thunderball Scuba Gear

Hi, I was just wondering if there are any thunderball nuts here (like me) that (like me) have been fascinated with bonds scuba gear in the thunderball film. I own the same model mask as he uses :D:D:D, and I believe I have the same scuba fins/very similar, but unfortunately I dont have the orange wetsuit though....

    hi dirtyharrysw44
Hey I am a H.Callahan nut like u before I became a 007 nut. Yes I am a TBall obessed fan also. Got the Bond blue mask with round white marker as in the final battle scenes. also got the SPECTRE/Largo mask and Bond/Domino's scuba regulator - all seen prominantly in movie. XL Connery sized fins are hard to come by but OR wetsuit is real hard. Only saw one in last 6 years but that was a medium size - not Connery's size but possibly fit one of the 007 girls as in the promos.

Glad to hear im not the only one :D!!!!!!! as far as im concerned, I dont need to get the exact stuff he had, just something similar, but as I said, I do have the exact mask, and I wouldnt bet money on it, but I believe his fins are voit vikings. I will watch today, to refresh my memory. BTW, If anyone has seen the 50's tv show "Sea Hunt", Mike Nelson Uses the same mask!!!

Yes there are a number of us T-ball nuts out there.. :)
I have a complete set of the Largo henchman scuba gear (mask, Polaris regulator, eccentric valve tank manifold, twin black Voit tanks, weight belt, blue handle knife, depth/compass combo gauge and duck feet fins). Also have the Jaguar pneumatic speargun. Only thing I still lack is the black Voit wetsuit, and I will have that shortly.
I've started on the Bond gear, but it's much harder to find. Have the A66 Viking fins and twin white Voit tanks, and working on the rest...B-)

Just found this page and string. The very first scuba tank I bought in 1976 was from a pawn shop. It was the VOIT white 50 with the blue backpack. I found the backpack uncomfortable and got rid of it but still have the tank. The first hydro date on the tank was 1962. It is still a good tank. I'm kicking myself for not saving the backpack. Wish I could find a replacement just like it.

Can one of you experts here reveal the manufacturer of the Spectre SCUBA gear? Also grateful for any suggestions of market searches, eBay etc Much obliged!

I believe that VOIT provided the Scuba gear for Thunderball.
Certainly the knives used by the SPECTRE divers are VOIT and I’ve just recently managed to find a VOIT Swimaster Wide View mask, as used by them, over on eBay.

I'm an avid Thunderball dive equipment collector. There's a great article on the subject in the January 1966 issue SKIN DIVER magazine. If memory serves, the article talks about the guy who was sent from Voit as a technical adviser. He was to stay for a couple of weeks, but wound up staying for the whole time they were filming. His name was Charles, and he became known to the production crew as Charlie Voit.

Here's a picture of some of my Thunderball gear. If you are interested I can post more pictures of the rest of my gear.

Everything in the picture is real except for the blue speargun which is a mock-up from Ed at thespyboys.com, but it does use a casting of the actual trigger group.
