As others said, wear them unless your sole purpose is to resell one day. Even then, I rather enjoy and live life rather than simply think about sole profit.

We have other things to make $ and should enjoy our passions.

    Same here!
I'm so afraid to scratch them :#

They are very robust you know even Bond proves that!

I wear mine all the time and worst I get (except for any watches with Heslite, but thank god for polywatch) is a few marks on the clasp mainly. Nothing a brush with my fibreglass brush or scotchbrite won’t fix every once and a while. :D

If they do take a beating and my P.O. did come with me on tour, then a trip to the service centre soon has them like new.

    Cheers :007)

When you have your Omega serviced, do they just do the internal gubbins and give a bit of a polish, or do they actually buff out deeper scratches and nicks? Is there a list of items and procedures covered in a service somewhere? I must get my PO done soon.

When you send in a watch for service they will only work on the movement but they will also inspect the rest of the watch. If there are any parts outside the normal movement service that need replacing they will give you a cost breakdown and you can decided to do the repairs or not. Polishing is an optional service and it will take care of most surface scratches but if they are really deep you may need some laser welding. You can contact your local service center and they will give you prices for the services you are looking to have performed.

I’ve just had my PO serviced and they brought the case/bracelet back to pretty much ‘as new’; if you have scratches on the case/clasp/bracelet you can get them polished out. I imagine there are limits to what can be polished out of course!

Left on purposely until I get home on Saturday! Have to travel on long flights home via Peru and Chile, hence in case security manhandle it (unlikely but never know)

Hopefully the security people respect your watch especially when it's a little difficult to get!

When you have a moment you should take a look at the new Pepsi GMT Master II pricing on line :o

I counted 41 on Chrono24 and they're all double the list price....RIDICULOUS! Daytona prices are hovering around 22k :s :o

Yup. Thats modern day Rolex for you, huge demand and sod all supply.

Cant see things changing for a long time. Was in a Miami mall yesterday and the Rolex boutique had just Date Justs, Explorer II and a Platinum Daytona. They were all nice to me until they saw my watch and then got a bit arsey. I wanted tk check out the Platinum Daytona (intrigued by the weight) and they would not let me even try it on. The lady commented it was 7 times the price then the one on my wrist and got snooty with me! Quite amusing, guess I looked like a mere peasant :D

That's very unfortunate but there is nothing anyone can do :# If you're talking about the boutique at the Miami Design District i've been there before last fall. I took my friend into look at watches because he would like get a Rolex and it appears the selection was better last time i visited. I don't understand why they would be so snooty with you and then not even allow you to try a watch on? I would have told her "Miss it appears you're misinformed because the current price for my Daytona on the grey market is 22k and the current price for the Platinum Daytona is 60k so in reality its ONLY 2.73 times the price"

That sales lady is a poor representative of the brand and she really be ashamed of herself! Glad they weren't like that to me or my friend because i would probably make her cry :)) :D

PS: That whole interaction you had reminds of the scene from the film Exit Wounds. DMX goes and buys a Lamborghini and get treated rather poorly by the sales associate 8-)

It was the Adventura Mall in Sunny Isles. It seemed to link into Mayors but had its own seperate Rolex boutique (own entrance and Rolex store)

Maybe I should of worn my Nautilus to the mall lol

Rolex’s current strategy is a bit irritating. Even no date subs are basically impossible to find at the moment.

I was thinking that and then you should have done her Paul Hogan style :))

You should read some of the YELP reviews for that particular Mayors as they're interesting :s

I'll be pulling the trigger on a Spectre Seamaster 300 within the next few weeks. Does anyone here have a preferred seller? I'm leaning towards the one that's on Amazon. It's about $1,000 more than I was looking to pay BUT Amazon offers a lot of security to buyers. You know. In case I get a broken watch or an empty box. I'm also looking at Chrono24 - they have decent deals but I have no idea what their reputation is generally. There are a couple mixed threads on WatchUSeek but I know people who have a complaint are more likely to pipe-up than people who had no problem.

I'd love to hear from anyone who has experience with a 10K+ watch purchase and advice to offer. This will be the largest watch purchase I'll have made by a factor of two.

Watchuseek.com is where I bought mine, also watchrecon.com is awesome.

    Paypal in my opinion is all you need for security as a buyer. -{

Watchuseek and chrono24 are fine, just check the reviews on the seller. Personally I pay with a credit card, then transfer the money straight on to it, credit card offers good protection.
It was either that.....or the priesthood
