Since the rumoured Norwegian location is Rjukan in Telemark, shouldn't the title be "Hero of Telemark"? :))

Or whatever the norse word for hero is.

The only issue with Norway is does it fit in with the plot, e.g. if a middle east theme it wouldnt but if a balkan/russian it could.

No. The old norse words for 'hero' (oldungr, kappi, halr, holdr, segr) don't look and sound right for a title. Besides, I don't think the Norwegian part of the story is important enough to the plot, 20 million $ will be 5-10 % of the total budget.

There are several words in Old Norse meaning hero, but they don't sound right for a movie title. Not to mention that EON will film for about 20 million dollars in Norway, less than ten percent of the total budget. Norway won't be one of the major locations :#

Who knows - maybe it'll be called "DEATH FOR BREAKFAST"

I'm calling it now; regardless of what Bond 25 is called, Bond 26 will be called "James Bond" or "Bond".

That would be the worst case scenario - bland and uncreative :#

"James" and "007" should also be on the table.

The Bond films have followed plenty of trends over the run of the series, and I'm sure they don't want to miss this trend for naming the film after the character. I don't think that the film industry has realised that these titles have become a joke now. They want to be sure that the audience knows what series they are watching, especially if there's been a long break since the last film in the franchise. And they want us to know that the film will have a character-driven story and not and old-fashioned plot-driven story.

The only name that should be in the title is the villan's name. I won't be surprised if the title is "Blofeld". Purvis/Wade wrote SPECTRE where Blofeld came back to to the Bond franchise. It's pretty likely Blofeld is a part of the plot of Bond25 with the two of them writing it.. If Blofeld has key role in the plot I think his name could be the title, especially since SPECTRE was the title in the last one. Not that I want that title, but I can live with it.

I think there's a strong argument for the title.

If the film is DC's last, I wouldn't rule out the name that Bond24 was going to be given, according to the book, Some kind of hero, and that is, Nothing is Forever.

I could live with that one. It's not the worst title that's been suggested.

"Nothing is forever" is a beautiful title, but somewhat gloomy. There is a sense of foreboding in that title, but perhaps not enough for an action movie.

Madeleine is likely to die, so...

I hope not. it's been done before, even in Craig's tenure. A break-up and/or Madeline having another function in the plot would be better. But of course Bond25 is written by the people who thought calling a movie SPECTRE and pretending Christoph Waltz isn't Blofeld was a great idea, so they might actually kill her in the PTS.

Yes, though let's not blame the writers entirely. Others are involved in the title decision. If the title had been Nothing is Forever, the Blofeld 'reveal' wouldn't have been so misplaced. But we can blame John Logan for the foster brother BS.

In the past, they have used Fleming titles just because they were Fleming titles. 'The Living Daylights' and 'Quantum of Solace' should have been titled something else, and I can't believe Flemng would have wanted a major motion picture to be called 'Octopussy'.

I agree of TLD and QOS, altough I like them as titles they're not the best. QOS does make sense if you look deeper into the title, but it's just too confusing for the regular audience. TLD does have a Bond feeling to it, but the line feels forced into the movie. I do not agree on your comment about Octopussy. Whats wrong with that? Fleming had lots of different titles and when he wrote the books, none of them were ment as motion picture titles at first.

It's not bad exactly (neither is the film - it's my favourite film ever) but 'Octopussy' sounds a bit like a 1970s soft-porn film about off-shore fishermen. It certainly caused a stir at the time: one paper surveyed the public by asking them if they would see a film with that title.

I would tentatively suggest that Fleming knew that his book titles would be used as film titles, as he was always interested in selling the rights. It's less certain, however, if he expected his short story titles to be used as well. Judging by the rather anemic title of 'OO7 in New York', I suspect he didn't.

A title I thought of would be „Red Sky at Night“ with Red Sky being some kind of super weapon, etc...

That title or versions of it was actually rumoured to be the title during the production of Skyfall. It's not a bad title.

I must‘ve gotten it from there then. I think it sounds great plus I dig a title with more than two syllables. ;)

I believe Fleming floated several names for various episodes of the ill-fated James Bond tv series that became the FYEO compilation. One of those titles was “Death Leaves an Echo.” Does anyone know if EON has the rights to this title? I think it would be incredible, but it seems odd that it hasn’t been used (which makes me suspect they might not have it).

So I was going to post this on the News thread for Bond 25 though I am conscious that it's base on evidence which isn't always reliable.
Basically, I had a dream in which I was watching TV and the new trailer for Bond 25 appeared.
From what I can tell you about the trailer, the film will be called Snow, and it's a crossover with Lilo and Stitch :D

Exactly! I remember in the dream being so happy that we actually finally got some more news, regardless of what it was.

I was thinking a nice title, given the whole play on phrases thing, might be 'Cross Your Heart'.

To be honest I think the best title of recent years is from the books: 'Carte Blanche' is a pretty perfect Bond title if you ask me.

Now that would be cool. One of the Bond girls could turn up in that, and James couldnt resist jumping in of course.
