Question for everyone regarding the Drake's Crosby Suede mocs.....how is the sizing on this shoe? I wear a 9 UK in Crockett Jones, Church's and Loakes so i am assuming that i'd need the same for the Crosby's but the site says they run true to size and i've seen other comments online saying to order a half size up. Any insight given would be appreciated as i am considering them.

  • Are we sure the Crosby Drake's are the screen used pair? Colors look different to me.
I don't see the tan line in the movie stills.

I'm willing to bet they altered the Crosby's for the film just like they altered the Danner boots as they did not come in black.

The stunt man’s shoes jumping from Bridge, from which these were originally identified did have matching sole colours with Drakes, so I agree and suspect someone in costume department did some colouring in!

I'm a size UK7 in all my C&J or U.K. brands shoes and I went for a size UK7 for my Drake's despite the fact some people were saying to size up.....the shoes fit well, as they should. The only thing you have to be aware of is the front of the shoes is flat so it can be a little bit embarassing when you wear the shoes at the beginning. Once they are shaped to your feet, it's okay :)

I guess it depends on which run you own, some of them have the tan line, some don't.
Same with the stitching-colour of the thread, I own a pair with a darker stitching (the thread has nearly the same colour as the chestnut-suede) The Stitching on the Drakes-pictures or the one Craig wears are much more better visible but I can live with that

you make me nervous with your well-fitting-Connolly-Jacket-pictures, I sized up and realise that this was maybe a mistake :S

I think we need someone to go to that Bond museum, pull the shoe off the mannequin wearing the sloop suit, check the branding on the inside sole, and then run like hell when security shows up.
I've got $5 bucks for whoever does it.

+ 5 from me if this person can identify the brand of the blue socks

I highly doubt it will ever open again now. They had to leave before June anyway due to Warner Bros taking over the lease and space.

Totally agree! Great review, and the jacket looks great, Blair! And now I'm relieved I ordered the M as well since we're usually the same in sizing.

    Kind regards,
    Craig

GREAT comparison and review Blair....BTW, looks great on you!
I wanted to wait until David's vlog was up before posting these of my Connolly Giubbino Matera Jacket, so as not to steal any thunder, but here they are-

    Matera-i.jpg

I'm wearing a medium, and definitely wouldn't have sized up. I have the same measurements as David, but obviously not as ripped! The jacket is extremely light, being unlined. The quality is fantastic. Sleeve length is a tad on the long side, so will need to be altered. But is it worth the massive price premium over the Mango jacket? Well, I have to say, mmmmmmm, maybe not. Unlike David, it is a style of jacket that I would wear in the Spring/Summer, but I also wear a lot of Henleys, which David wouldn't necessarily do. But, with a little tweaking, and if you don't feel you could buy the Connolly without really stretching the budget, I would say probably stick with the Mango. But for some, the Bond connection, plus the quality of the material and the fact that you could or would wear it out in the wild, then the pull will just be too great. And it would be a rare sight, too.

Ahh I didn’t know that. It was pretty popular wonder if they will be able to get another location?

It seems that the cars are going back to their donors, or back to the Archive, so I don’t think we will see anything in the UK anytime soon

That’s a pity. Been twice to London and also went to The Motor Museum. Was looking forward to the NTD stuff

I was there in late February and asked about this. I was told by one of the staff that they had guarantees they’d be there until the end of the year.

Mind you even if that’s right I’m not sure the Covid 19 situation will have resolved by then...

Hey guys, long time lurker, but not new to the costume game. I’ve made accounts on a few other sites where I’ve identified other film clothing (mainly stuff from Mission Impossible), so maybe I can help here.
Only question at the moment is that of the Danner boots. The screenshot I’ve seen here of the “black” boots are clearly in the shade and look like the currently produced green or tan in the sunlight.
Also, congrats to the lucky ones who somehow managed to get the ties when they are nowhere to be found online.

Have any of you who are in the US heard from Connolly in regards to when our jackets are shipping?

Nothing yet, Mike. Last Saturday Maximos said he would provide me with tracking when it was shipped.

Like some here mentioned it, I ordered this shirt from John Henric brand as an alternative to the B.C. Matera shirt.

As you can see, they know what is Customer Service !!!!

Ok glad to hear they are trying to get them out! I just read an article on the Guardian about the lockdown and that it could last up to 6 months :o

I received the same information from Maximo (Connolly): Shipping on Monday and he sents me an e-mail with the confirmation, tracking-link and so on (delivery with CSM) but since then there is absolut no movement or updates, current status: Consignment Created, pickup-date and shipping-date: N/A, CSM mentioned that they can not work with full man-power at this time, I don't know how huge the delay will be in in the end but it seems that the delivery collides with the UK shutdown (I live in the EU)

Told Connolly to hold back on posting mine as my country has suspended all flights

I didn't get an email from Connolly so i guess i'll just wait and see.

Patience with Connolly - as of Monday evening, all non essential shops were shut in the UK and we were ordered to work from home unless otherwise able to, which would most likely mean that their office and store are closed. This could possibly result in a whole load of Jackets sitting waiting to be collected.

I received mine on Monday, sent CSM which is just an operator who deal with UPS. It’s sent via UPS. UPS ARE STILL SHIPPING INTERNATIONALLY (I’m using them for US and EU deliveries) but everything is taking longer now, and we aren’t meant to be going outside for non-essentials so they may find it difficult to get into their office to ship them. If it’s London also the public transport is being reserved for the essential workers, NHS police and such.

Similarly, we don’t know if Maximos is one of the 1.5M vulnerable who have been ordered to not leave the house.

So many unknowns but I’m sure your jackets will ship as soon as they can.

P.S I received an email from him saying they missed on sending the garment bag and spare buttons with my jacket as they were delayed in leaving Italy. Perhaps they are waiting for those to come through also to avoid shipping twice!
  • I received an e-mail from Connolly telling me that there was a sizing mix up of sorts for my order, so it looks like I'll be getting
a size Medium instead of a size Large. I really have no clue how this slightly awkward jacket will fit me, but long
story short, if someone in the US gets a size Large and decides that it's too big for them, I would be willing to
do a swap with you for my size Medium (hasn't arrived yet) I will be leaving the tags on and won't be wearing it.
    Thanks.
