About 2 and a half minutes in there are a few shots of the Alfani shirt without any colour correction, you can really see its true colour.
quite a lot of rare footage in this documentary indeed.

Nice one, that was a great watch to start the week with ajb007/smile

Yes. Considerably!

I think what you meant to say is that the shots are not color graded. They SHOULD be color corrected in order to see the true color of the shirt. In fact, the camera is obviously balanced for 5600K when all interior casino lights are bathing the shirt in tungsten light. So, without color correction, the color of the shirt is totally off.

Apart from that, thanks for the link! Very interesting video indeed!

Re: The alfani shirt

right. excuse my lack of technical knowledge. Sounds like you know what you're talking about. Out of curiosity would it be possible to  correct the shots in that video to show the shirt's true colour?

Most definitely!

Without knowing the camera that this behind the scenes footage was shot with, we can't be scientifically accurate but i would say that the following image is 90% there:

Re: The alfani shirt

what exactly did you guys search on ebay to find it?

yeah almost! I still think the screen used shirt is black because my one under certain light does look the same as it does here. If it were a navy or midnight blue I would expect it to look even more blue than it does here. Then again I could be wrong.

Yes the shirt's color is without a doubt a dark navy blue color.  ajb007/smile

keywords like: Alfani, men's shirt, polyester, soft etc.

Many hours spent looking for mine. If you really want one i'd suggest checking ebay everyday or every two days.

I've relaxed my obsession somewhat since lol

Re: The alfani shirt

I have the costume card of this shirt (actually two of them). It's a very dark midnight blue, and the blue only comes out under bright natural light.

86

Re: The alfani shirt

Congratulation Johnwr1 I guess you have the screen accurate shirt!

Re: The alfani shirt

When i color balanced the footage that Bond_Ambitions provided, I hadn't realized yet that there was a debate about what color the SA shirt was. After reading the whole thread i tried to see if there was any other segment in the video that could be analyzed.

There is one more clip with a wider angle:

Although not a perfect sample either, there is no doubt that the shirt is midnight blue like Matt just said.

Re: The alfani shirt

Remember there were swatches available and that this was NOT an Alfani shirt as originally thought.

Out of curiosity, if not Alfani - what brand was it, or do we know?

How interesting. So this swatch does not match the Alfani shirt? Lindy Hemming had said that the shirt in the film was a heavy blue silk. I am tempted to do the burn test with the costume card to see if it's silk.

Can you post a photo of the costume card?

Also, for anyone that might now.. where is that CR swatches card coming from?

sruzgar posted a photo of it above. It's from Rittenhouse, and they come up on eBay frequently.

Re: The alfani shirt

I thought Alfani was the accepted answer for years. Wonder when the accepted answer shifted. I thought I was paying attention!

Oh it is the same one then.

Rittenhouse, as in Rittenhouse auctions? I wonder if there is anything else written on the back side. I was actually wondering who produced those.

Here's the front and back of the card from a recent ebay auction.

For those with the Alfani shirt, does the close up of the fabric match the Alfani or not?

Hey fellas, what did I miss? oh...

Westward_Drift, looking at my Alfani shirt I have to say it does not match the costume swatch at all   ajb007/frown

sruzgar, do you have ANY more information to share about the screen used shirt?

Wasn't the Alfani 100% polyester faux suede.

Def doesn't match that fabric detail on the costume card anyhow

Re: The alfani shirt

I still find it interesting we still don't have a definitive answer 14 years later.

So does this make the "last minute" story bogus?

a reasonable rate of return

Re: The alfani shirt

Well we know there was 3 custom made shirts in Casino Royale with material Lindy liked so maybe this shirt was also the same
