Re: The "official" announcement of the movie title is next month.

Ok the discussion can end, but not without my last words. No fallouts here. I love a debate just for debate's sake. This place wouldn't be the same, if we all agreed. I'm here for the lulz. Pots are to be shaken, not stirred. You're doing it wrong TP   ajb007/martini

I thought I at least tried to show a different perspective to explain your conclusions. Two sides to every story. The answers aren't that simple if you consider the bigger picture.. Films are a team effort. Some people can perform well within the film despite the overall quality. Ticket sales are not quality barometers. The highest grossing films are likely to be or become other franchises with built in fan bases already established. Harry Potter, Twilight, Transformers, Comic book movies, Disney etc. People eat these up and the actors and films don't have to be good.

Haven't seen all the Craig films you listed, but I'm sure they all deserved their numbers. The don't even sound like good films. I just hope Craig didn't have any better options, because I'm not impressed with his selections.

No excuse for Craig, he has to make do with what movies he can get for his 15 minutes. Every Bond actor has faced these odds. None seemed to really make it outside during or after their runs either, except Connery.

So Craig is not a superstar to the masses. He still can be a solid actor at times. He has his niche. I can see him going back to his pre-Bond roots after trying the few lead roles he has available.

And TP it's only fair that you have to wait as long for Craig to leave as I did Dalton. Payback's a Dalton. ajb007/cheers

The fact that you are Happy, Sir Miles. Leaves me Very Unhappy.  ajb007/tongue

Most of the Bonds have gone on to successful careers in Movies, None having the string of ( I'll be kind, in light of the new found feeling of Bond love and friendship wafting over AJB at the moment.)  " Not as Successful as they Might of been projects " as the Lovely and Talented Mr Craig.

No...go on...tell me which one...

And as long as I can make one person unhappy - well, that just doubles my pleasure ajb007/tongue

Most have gone on to have mediocre movie careers....ALL have had some huge turkeys....

And it's about time DC had some love here....I still remember the months after his appointment to the role of Bond here at AJB....some people posted some nasty things about him, without giving him a chance...

Re: The "official" announcement of the movie title is next month.

You want to know a "James Bond" actor who had great success afterwards?

Barry Nelson played "Jimmy Bond" in "Casino Royale" for the Climax Mystery Theatre on CBS, October 21, 1954.
He went on to do Airport (1970) and The Shining (1980).   ajb007/tongue

Two films in which he had minor roles is hardly 'great success'... ajb007/rolleyes

Anyone think this Skyfall domain name is just a ploy by the producers?

I do, down2000. I can't wait for the press conference next month. I'm hoping they will announce the new title then as they did in January 24, 2008.

I would like the title to be "Property of a Lady". It sounds like a good 50th Anniversary title.

If the title is "Skyfall". Well, it doesn't sound too exciting.  But then you had "Moonraker" and the movie did well.

I hope it is, I'd really like to know the title at least.

Re: The "official" announcement of the movie title is next month.

They will probably make another announcement the day before and announce the time of the press conference.  As I recall in 2008, the Press Conference was on SKY News.

40

Re: The "official" announcement of the movie title is next month.

My mistake (it usually is..). The press conferance is supposed to be on THURSDAY the 3. November.

Re: The "official" announcement of the movie title is next month.

I do have a question. Is this information coming from Pinewood Studios or from the lady who was an extra as a "dead person" in a movie filming there?

42

Re: The "official" announcement of the movie title is next month.

The source is Club James Bond France. Remember: If this pans out, I want the credit for being first on AJB to report it. If it`s wrong it`s the Frenchs fault!

Re: The "official" announcement of the movie title is next month.

I knew their would be a leak somewhere. I think I will wait until I can hear it from the mouth of Michael G. Wilson, Barbara Broccoli or Sam Mendes in 3 hours, 30 minutes.
