Apologies for the fact that they're in the Daily Hate, but here's the first images of Craig as Bond in Skyfall, taken from filming on Whitehall.

With all the cracks about naked men, I'm wondering if this publication should be called The Daily Male. And I see Craig hasn't shaved, so bring on the Bond-will-have-a-beard comments!

I don't intend to go on about this negatively, I'll be a stuck record, but it's not so much the stubble as the white stubble. Hey! I have it myself but it really don't look good, I mean did Harrison Ford have white stubble as Indy? Not even in Chrystal Skulls, if I recall.

But of course, it's gonna get easy to piece together things from these pics, rightly or wrongly, so
Craig is undercover as some homeless down and out in early scenes in the film. Nah, not being facetious, that's how it looks.

Yeh, point taken, but it's better than a bad die job.... I mean at least we know he isn't vain enough to have to die his beard... :o (We never want to repeat the awful rug that was on Connery for NSN)

I'm more worried about the trousers.... I mean they are 3" too short... and with the chukka boot... not such a great look. Bring back the white/cream jeans ;)

(although perhaps we don't see the trousers in the scene, but still.... DC - you need a longer inside leg!*)

Posing as a teacher while he was away? I should hope there is a decent explanation for his less than groomed look.

    Spot-on, Sir Miles.

I'm a big fan of Dalton, and wasn't happy when Brosnan took over. And, unlike many fans, I was not particularly impressed by his debut in GE. Yet I kept an open mind for each of his films, and during production, looked forward to them with optimism. I really don't understand the intense negativity directed at Daniel Craig (or Rog or Dalton or any of the Bond actors).

My, my a little testy. Total of nine posts above yours, almost all of them negative about Craig's look and you take exception to mine. Oh well doesn't bother me, but if you want to know how I really feel about Skyfall perhaps you should read my post from the Bond 23 - Skyfall thread. I will paste it below to save you the trouble of looking for it.

My opinion on everything we know at this time. As I previously mentioned I do not like the title, too short, too abrupt, but titles are really not that important. Very good cast, I believe Javier Barden will be a very good villain and some of the smaller supporting characters have very good actors filling them. Not crazy about the Bond girls, Naomi Harris is a good actress, she is attractive, but lacks sex appeal. Berenice Marlowe is very pretty, but is similar to other actresses that have been cast in Bond films lately, tall thin model like, but not voluptuous. I love some of Sam Mendes work, American Beauty and Road to Perdition were excellent films and both were gorgeous films to look at. So hopefully the cinematography that I feel has been lacking in the recent Bond films will be upgraded and we will get a beautifully shot film. The locations, London, ShanghaI and Istanbul could be interesting, although Istanbul has been done before.

So in summary, at this point more good than bad, hopefully we get a good theme song, although I am not holding my breath, and perhaps we get a great film. Now about the guy playing Bond..........ahh never mind.

Like most other snippets we see in the media, we have no context whatsoever for this scene in the film. I'm sure there is some reason for Bond looking so "bummy". I doubt very much this is the new look "grunge Bond". Probably just finished some rough piece of business, possibly undercover.

I'm hoping for a good reason, as surely even with Babs tinted glasses all must know that this looks terrible. However nothing short of a nervous breakdown is going to excuse that hair cut.
The fan boys will of course cheer at a return to the CR look, but that was now some time ago...

I'll tell you what's really upsetting me... The number plate on that Range Rover has been hastily stuck over it's real registration, which has the blue EU identifier panel to the left and is clearly visible under the new plate. My attention to detail can't handle that shoddiness. I just hope it doesn't pervade into the rest of the film or I'll just wait for the DVD release.

I travel around central London most days and suggest that the scenes appear to being filmed at Smithfield Market, Farringdon. This is approx 2 miles from Whitehall. This would co-ordinate with an article in a recent tabloid that scenes would be filmed near Farringdon with Bond in a car 'jumping' into another car during a fight scene.

Between a Range Rover (i.e., that one, with the ballsed-up regy plate :v ) and a Jaguar. In reality, and we have to remember that's reality, only the Prime Minister, Defence, Foreign and Northern Ireland Secretaries get a motorcade, which in typically British understated fashion includes an armoured Jaguar followed closely by an unmarked Special Branch Range Rover - i.e., this one. Could this be part of the 'attack' on MI6 - M's convoy, perhaps, or whatever officials are played by Finney or Fiennes?

Well, he's definitely the first Bond with a prematurely gray beard (as well as graying temples if the pics are accurate).

I pretty much didn't bother following development on QoS and when the film finally premiered I was at least able to enjoy it somewhat as just another action movie the felt kind of like a Bond movie. Think I'm going to be doing the same with Skyfall.

  • HowardBHowardB USAPosts: 2,735MI6 Agent
There are some additional pictures on MI6 of some other actors/extras pretty well bloodied up...so there is definately some serious carnage involved in the scene. The theory of an attack on the motorcade sounds plausable. Maybe Bond and other MI6 agents or the 00's are all called back from holiday or other assignments to find whoever was responsible. More than likely the military and politicians will suspect the usual terrorists but as we all know in the Bond universe a meglomaniacle super villain and his secret criminal organization bent on destroying or destabilizing the world (for monitary profit of course) are behind this. After a shower, shave, and donning of a proper outfit by Tom Ford our man 007 will be off to find them. During his mission he will come across intel that may link "M" in some way with this nasty conspiracy...but is it true or just planted to throw him off the scent or destroy "M". I'm probably completely off the mark with all of this.....but at least at my age I still have a little imagination left (and too much time in watching Bond films). :s
  • HowardBHowardB USAPosts: 2,735MI6 Agent
Oh yes, and MI6 will come under fire by the politicians and media for not preventing the attack....consequently putting "M" on the hotseat.
  • Moonraker 5Moonraker 5 Ayrshire, ScotlandPosts: 1,821MI6 Agent
I notice from the photos on MI6 there is a very nice new Jaguar XJL on set. Looks very much like the standard senior government motorcade of Jag/Range Rover. And with Judi Dench on set, my guess is that's M's motorcade.

Oh, and Lady Rose, there's a photo of the Rangey with the EU plate and it has the same registration! All is well in the world again :D

No it isn't; the blue is on the plate- it's just that it only appears around the edges because it's been bleached out by the flash.

Thanks, but...I was just being facetious.

This is the typical type of VIP escort for senior officials (in this case, HRH The Prince of Wales); I think it's going to be M's escort that becomes compromised in some way.

Okay; not feeling well today- perhaps I'll understand that joke when I'm feeling better.

I dunno if it's VIP escort any more than the Rangey Sport in Quantum was VIP; you've just got to pick from either a Jag or a Land Rover if you're in a Bond flick! :)
