huh! my PAN paperbacks are still packed away since my last move, so I can't give you a page ref. But I do have all 14 books as textfiles on my harddrive, so thanks the the magic of textstring searching, here is the actual quote:.
From OHMSS ch8. Fancy Cover

Fleming wrote:

Bond might be able to trick the man into a visit to Germany, as a result of a report which Sable Basilisk had prepared of certain Blofeld family documents at the Augsburg Zentral Archiv, which would need Blofeld's personal identification. Security precautions would include keeping Station Z completely in the dark about Bond's mission to Switzerland and a closure of the 'Bedlam' file at Headquarters which would be announced in the routine 'Orders of the Day'. Instead, a new code-word for the operation, known only to an essential handful of senior officers, would be issued. It would be 'CORONA'.

So Fleming did indeed use the term, but it was for the plan to infiltrate Piz Gloria and bring Blofeld out, named CORONA before MI6 learned about Blofeld's bio-terror plot. Still, I guess the details of Blofeld's plot were entered into that CORONA file before it was closed.

Re: The 007 Scrapbook .

the same article also mentions there was once an Asterix villain named Coronavirus. Because the Romans names all end in -us, and all Asterix characters names are puns.
Anybody know in which book this character showed up in?

A: aha! it was the second last book, Asterix and the Chariot Race (2017)!
and I do know which box I have that book stashed away in...

Coronavirus was the name of the Roman's entrant in the race, who always wore a mask(!!), and was accompanied by his faithful assistant Bacillus!
see pg13 where the two characters  are introduced in a large panel. you will not believe it...

this volume is by the new creative team of Jean-Yves Ferri and Didier Conrad, so retired series creator Albert Uderzo is not to blame for that awful coincidence.

Er... yes. Yes he did, with some help from his good lady (who wrote the middle "What does it matter to ya" section). And no- while being the first official Bond song to be nominated for an Oscar ("The Look Of Love" was from the non-official CR67) it didn't win.
So, don't bother clicking on the above link to typical Express shoddy journalism.
