Re: Budget Bond Collectors Resource

Thanks, I've been having fun with it.

Baracuta is having another 30% off sale. The G4 is on sale, but only in faded black, and they have the G9 (with the knit cuffs and hem) in Navy blue.

Re: Budget Bond Collectors Resource

Just posted alternatives to the All Saints Iggy Corduanes from Skyfall:
https://iconicalternatives.wordpress.co … ane-jeans/

Also cleaned up some dead links on the Menlo jacket post and added a couple of new options:
https://iconicalternatives.wordpress.co … er-jacket/

The site has been up for 10 days now and I thought some of you may be interested in the stats so far: the TF QoS cardigan (https://iconicalternatives.wordpress.co … -cardigan/) is still in the lead by views, followed by the Dior jacket(https://iconicalternatives.wordpress.co … te-jacket/) and BC Morocco linen blazer(https://iconicalternatives.wordpress.co … en-jacket/). The Matchless jacket post is in fifth in terms of views, but this post and the BC linen blazer post definitely generate the most clicks on the links. The boots posts and and OB swim shorts post have probably had the least interest .

Don't know if you folks care about this stuff, but I think it is fun to see what other people are looking for.  ajb007/smile  ajb007/martini

Neil Barrett Poster/London Trousers budget alternatives:

https://iconicalternatives.wordpress.co … -trousers/

Tried to mix in more options for those of you in UK/Europe.

Had a hard time finding a good image of these. If anyone has the originals and feels like sharing a picture of them, I will be more than happy to give credit in the post.

Thanks!

I don't know if you're planning on doing the TF Morocco tie soon, but I found this affordable brown knit tie from Z Zegna.

Skyfell: I'm planning on easing my way into suiting soon; I will add your suggestion when I do and make sure you are given the credit.

I also wanted to get started with some of the more popular ties. Chevarian and Peppermill: Again, I will add your suggestions to the list and l make sure credit is given.

Always shaken: I didnt even think about those but it could be a fun search!

I feel another shoe/boot search coming on, so I would like to ask what would be most interesting to everyone:
Dress shoes from C&J (any from QoS, Skyfall, Spectre; these would probably be easiest for me to do)
The RJ Williams Chelseas from Layer Cake (want a pair of these myself)
The Converse OTR boots Always Shaken is looking for

I also have a special announcement for the watch experts on the forum: I would really love it if someone could put together a list of affordable options to Omega/Rolex.

What I can offer said experts: The opportunity to share your incredible and hard earned expertise on the website of a celebrated* writer with a loyal and devoted** following of dozens for absolutely zero financial renumeration!

Come on! Who wants to live the dream!***

PM me if you're interested! If anyone else would like to see a list like this, you could also apply some friendly pressure!

**loyal and devoted to James Bond, not me or the site
***my attempt to compile a list of options would probably be a nightmare of inaccuracies.

I bought that exact pullover about a month or so ago when it first went on sale. Great budget alternative indeed at that price.

It has a snug fit though so be warned if you like yours a bit on the loose size then go up a size.

Here's another Skyfall John Smedley Bobby v-neck alternate from JS themselves on sale right now. XXL only available though;

If anyone is looking for a real budget alternative to the TF Solden jacket, there's this one at Macy's down to about $39.00 with all the discount codes:

Re: Budget Bond Collectors Resource

Did a general clean up of the site, removing some dead links and adding some new options for the Menlo jacket, the Matchless jacket and Neil Barrett trousers. Also adjusted the pricing on a few things to reflect new discounts. Lots of sales going on for Dior/Mr. White alternatives (https://iconicalternatives.wordpress.co … te-jacket/).

But options for the X to Ki, TF Harrington, BC Linen jacket, and the N.Peal poster sweater and roll neck sweater are disappearing fast. I'll do another look around for alternatives, but please share any links you have to options.

Also, the J.Crew Kentons in Boulder are on sale again for 30% off: https://www.jcrew.com/mens_category/sho … /C8924.jsp

New post with alternatives to the N.Peal Skyfall sweater coming later today or early tomorrow! Got inspired by HalfMonk HalfHitman and Enjoying Death's posts  ajb007/cheers

So glad you're keeping this up and so attentive to all the content! This could very easily become one of the best resources for Bond apparel at this rate!

Re: Budget Bond Collectors Resource

Don't think I saw this JCrew option for the Skyfall cords:

https://www.jcrew.com/mens_category/Pan … /20582.jsp

They have them in bittersweet chocolate, just select through the colors. I posted a link to the skinny fit, but they have these in slim fit too. I grabbed a pair on Black Friday sales in slim and they are very good quality, and now The brand has the bond connection due to the Kenton's. The skinny is probably a more SA fit though.

Looks like the largest leg size is 34, so no hope for taller people.
