Return to the UK - Airsoft issues

So it looks like my time in Hong Kong may be heading towards its end and a return to the UK may be on the cards, not imminently but I believe a strategy may have to be formulated.
I probably own a dozen or so Bond related replicas, airsoft and associated dummy ammo and forsee import issues with UK customs.
I have contacted the UKARA who's response has been pretty vague. I make regular trips to the UK so could join an airsoft group which I believe may smooth the process and enable me to comply with VCRA paper rules for ownership, but the import still concerns me.
having to sell them would be heartbreaking so any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
