Re: No Time To Die wardrobe: possible spoilers

I received my Connolly jacket about two hours ago.

I ordered a large and am glad I did. While the chest is a little billowy (which actually works great for unstructured linen) the arms and back length are just long enough.  If I had gone with a medium it would have been too short. No extra buttons or garment bag were included. I presume they are coming from Italy at a later date.

The horn buttons are basically black to the naked eye. Very disappointed with that. I have emailed Connolly about it.

Unshaken91 is right, it's not a jacket for tall or long bodied individuals.

Is it a very nice jacket? Yes.
Is it way overpriced? Hell, Yes.
Am I glad I bought it? I think so.

I also received my jacket this morning, in size "M". After perusing David's vlog, I was a bit afraid as I usually takes a size up from him and he also wore a size "M".
Finally the size "M" is a good fit for my 5'10 height. But this jacket is on the short side for sure. I agree with you : it is wayyy over priced......Bond effect I guess or "how to make some money on customer's back" !!!

I also received an email from Maximos later in the day, stating the garment bag and spare buttons were not ready from Italy when the jacket was shipped and they will come later....

Glad to hear that you received your jacket and that it's very nice but i am equally disappointed by the buttons not being screen accurate but please let us know what Connolly says about fixing the button issue! I'm thinking my fit will be ok as i am about 5'10 with 35/36 sleeves but Steve i am wondering how were the shoulder measurements relative to the sizing chart? The pricing for the jacket even at it's original RRP was overpriced but i think we could say that about a lot of items that DC/Bond wears. I'm hoping you all of us end up liking our jackets  ajb007/rolleyes

Even if they're sending me spare buttons and a garment bag/hanger i'd expect them to send us the correct buttons free of charge as we were told it would be the SAME jacket as used in the film!

Re: No Time To Die wardrobe: possible spoilers

When you get the Connolly, email them nicely about the buttons. I don't think Maximos ever saw what the Italian suppliers provided. The final button color is not close to the sample on display at the Connolly store.

I've worn the Mango version a couple times and once this lockdown passes I wonder if anyone will notice the Connolly is a different jacket.

Re: No Time To Die wardrobe: possible spoilers

On the bright side for those of us who bought it, the more that are returned, the less likely Connolly is to do another run. And the more collectible the jacket becomes down the line.  ajb007/lol

I took a look at the pictures that Maximos sent me and the buttons are obviously lighter in color but i find it odd that he wouldn't have seen them as they were shipped from the UK. I did try my jacket on and it fits me but i think i'm going to size up on this one as the jacket has a some drag with just a tshirt underneath, it's a little short and the extra length would work better if i wanted to use the draw string which isn't really useful because of how the front is designed  ajb007/crap  Hopefully Max has some XXL's available still or maybe someone will be willing to trade with me?

I also asked Max if its possible to get my jacket with screen accurate buttons. I'll let everyone know what he says!

Re: No Time To Die wardrobe: possible spoilers

With me the just barely long enough is most apparent when fully buttoned. One button ala DC or unbuttoned and its better. Now I am wondering if I should size up to an XL. I cant use the drawstrings, but I doubt I could use it on a XL either. I am just too tall to have it bunched at the waist.

Re: No Time To Die wardrobe: possible spoilers

Matera threads part II...

The Connolly. Like others, I was worried about this jacket for many reasons but I am pleasantly surprised by the weight and the featherweight blending of cotton and linen. I think it's a perfect garment to polish up a summer outfit when it is truly warm out but you still want something over a t-shirt.

The combination of bomber and blouson makes for a sort of "anti-fit" but I actually really like how it feels and drapes. (I don't mind the buttons it came with but I would love to have the screen accurate ones, too.)

Mine's a Medium.

MA Winch pants size 50 (they are pretty much the same fit as the sloop pants.

Now, would someone please now re-open Italy so I can go play 007over there? ('Nuff said)

I didn't try it with one button but I bet that way or open it will be less drag on the shoulders but I'd never wear a jacket with just one button done up unless it's a blazer/suit jacket or a peacoat.

4 things that could really improve this jacket.....

1. The jacket should be 1 to 1.5 inches longer (maybe longer) to accommodate people who are taller or have a longer torso.

2. Add another button closer to the bottom hem.

3. I'd like a button to be able to adjust the cuff to make it a little smaller.

4. Screen accurate buttons!

I decided to measure my jacket and the pit to pit is actually 60 cm and just over 124 total circumference, the sleeve is 63.5 cm, back of the collar to waist is 66.5 cm and the shoulder seem is 44.75 cm and the waist 58 cm.

Clearly the jackets measurements are off compared to the sizing chart so at least I know I'm not crazy for needing to size up but I'd recommend everyone take a quick measure of your jackets to compare!

What height are you out of interest? I ordered a XXL and am 6ft 4ins. Still waiting for mine to arrive so no idea on fit at the mo...

Re: No Time To Die wardrobe: possible spoilers

I'm 6'5" and get away with the large. Most of my height is in my legs, so my torso is short for my height.

As for my jacket the measurements are:

Chest: 23.325 inches  / 59.25cm
Back 25.75 inches / 65.4 cm
Back shoulder 17.5 inches /44.45cm
Outer sleeve: 25.75 inches/65.4 cm

Compared to the size chart, below, it's very close. Mine is slightly slimmer.

Re: No Time To Die wardrobe: possible spoilers

So to clarify...if it already hasn't been made clear, which I think it has...
The main issue with this jacket is that it is super short...the shortest jacket I have ever tried on.
Wait...I tried on a Belstaff one time that was this short...
Anyway! Wish I would have sized up.

If anyone has an XL that they want to part with, let me know.
And if anyone wants to buy a size M, let me know that as well!

I sent Max an email seeing about exchanging my XL for a XXL that's assuming they don't have an XL that matches the size chart. Worse case scenario I'll just sell it but I am wondering if anyone else has seen   any other drastic variations compared to the size chart?

Mike, I am shocked at how short your sleeves are, combined with shoulders smaller than what a large is measured at on the chart.

I too wish the jacket was an inch longer in the body and a bit longer in the sleeves, but such is the style. I have a vintage Helmut Lang denim jacket and it is even shorter in the back.

Yeah that extra 8/10 on the sleeves would be nice but it's really the shoulders that kill it as all I could wear it with is a t-shirt. I can deal with the length as it's warm weather jacket so it's extremely casual. Oh well I'll see what Max says.

Re: No Time To Die wardrobe: possible spoilers

BTW, we are talking about the buttons of the screen-used Conolly jacket but.....were they really like the jacket we have all seen in the Conolly store ?
Are we sure the SA ones weren't black ???

Re: No Time To Die wardrobe: possible spoilers

It looks like they really screwed up on this one...not to beat a dying horse, but the buttons are different.
And look how much longer the sleeves were on the original jacket compared to the new version...
Also I'm really disappointed in the price hike for a non-screen-accurate item.
It's the N. Peal commando sweater all over again.

And I agree, the size chart is way off. The size Medium fits like a size small.

I've looked closely at the set photos...and Daniel Craig's sleeves are not chopped shorter, they are rolled up...
These companies are not very good with paying attention to the details are they?

      not sure about that though....

Re: No Time To Die wardrobe: possible spoilers

Maybe the sleeve length depends on the jacket's size....

But good points here unshaken 91 ajb007/crap

4,348

Re: No Time To Die wardrobe: possible spoilers

I mentioned that before I believe but Connolly did confirm to me that DC wears an XL. that should explain the length of the sleeves.

4,349

Re: No Time To Die wardrobe: possible spoilers

And sure enough heavily tailored as happens with the majority of the stuff he wears... only funny thing is they did not decide to cut sleeves length down too

I posted pictures on post #3960 and the buttons are clearly a lot lighter and the sleeves were longer! DC's jacket has the sleeves rolled into the sleeve. I took a look at this article https://www.permanentstyle.com/2019/08/ … shirt.html and it states the jacket is a linen/cotton blend. I'll be honest the jacket is very nice but like i mentioned previously that the jacket even at RRP is overpriced. Regarding the sizing chart my jacet fits more like a large ajb007/crap
