There’s a button and buttonhole in the trouser cuff?

Thanks so much for the measurement. How do you mean about the buttonhole please?

Here's a pic of a suit I sold a while back—I believe it's the SA feature 007JBDCMWR's talking about.

Cheers, that’s something for the replica suit makers to take note of. Any idea if that was a feature on the Tom Ford suits in Skyfall and Spectre too?

Re: No Time To Die wardrobe: possible spoilers

The button on the trouser cuff has been on every model suit I've purchased through them. I have a Regency, 3 Windsors, 2 Spencer, 3 O'Connor,  2 Shelton, and 1 Atticus suit all with cuffs. So it's something that has been with him throughout the years. I haven't seen that detail on any other suit.

Same. My TF trousers have the button. It's a cool feature though I can't say I understand *why* it's a feature. Sharper pressing?

I'm not sure if it's purpose, but if the length of the trousers needs to be changed—or you're wanting to get rid of the cuff—simply removing the button and sewing up the tiny buttonhole will end up looking a hell of a lot better than unpicking a stitch that goes around the cuff (if it was done like that). You probably wouldn't even notice the cuff was there if you had to remove the button and sew up the hole.

All trousers have a stitch that goes around the hem, usually a blind stitch. The top of a cuff is not stitched around the cuff. It is attached at the seams, where these hidden buttons are. I've had many trousers converted from cuffs to plain, never with any trouble. I would imagine that sewing up these buttonholes would be more trouble than converting a normal cuff, but not any trouble.

Re: No Time To Die wardrobe: possible spoilers

I just picked up some A.G. Jeans at the currently running Nordstrom Anniversary sale.  These are a good, cheaper alternative to the Tom Ford grey jeans.

It's the Tellis fit, slightly slimmer than the Matchbox.  Currently at $139.90 for the sale.

I own these exact jeans! They're my alternative to the TF as well.

Right on!

I have those Tellis fit jeans in several washes.  They're my favorite jeans in terms of look and fit, so I was pumped to grab these grey ones to complete the NTTD outfit.  Nordstrom has several different washes available right now for their sale and I'm definitely thinking of grabbing more.

Re: No Time To Die wardrobe: possible spoilers

Not that you need my input, but you are accurate in your assessment regarding the hem removal. At my former employer we did this all the time. From what I read somewhere years ago, some old school tailors did this button thing for plan hemmed pants so that they could be turned up during the rain or snow and not soak the hem. Then they  later figured that it could also allow for a cuff to not be "tacked"  or sewn down on the seam when turned up which in older days could cause some unneeded bunching around the size of the turn ups. I am not sure of the full validity of this though. I am not preaching this as gospel, but when I read that it made some sense I suppose.

Bear in mind, that sale price is currently only available as early-access pricing for Nordstrom card members.  If you don't have a Nordstrom card, you'll have to wait until August 18th to get that pricing.

Last week I was in Jamaica where Bond's house looks out onto that bay.  It's not been officially named as a location but I met some (now friends) people who organised accomodation for the crew during filming and they took me there.  Stunning place in Portland, Jamaica.
The downside was they told me things I didn't know were in the story (I'm trying to my best ability to avoid story spoilers).

The name's Bond_James_Bond

I heard years ago that the point of the button in the turnups (cuffs) of Tom Ford suit trousers is so that they can be unfastened, opened up, and brushed to remove any dust that has accumulated.

Re: No Time To Die wardrobe: possible spoilers

Apologies, slightly off topic but prompted by the discussion above. Regarding buying a NTTD TF suit - is there a recommended contact/store forum users tend to go to when looking to buy? I am fairly knew to this but have heard the Milan boutique is often the best bet. Am based in Australia so obviously not a lot of options locally  ajb007/lol

Hey there:

I got emailed by my salesperson at the New York Rag & Bone store.  Everything, store wide (including sale items), is 30% off with free shipping.  I assume free shipping is only applicable for stateside buyers, but it never hurts to check.  They look to have the NTTD shirt in stock in several colors including the screen accurate one.

Re: No Time To Die wardrobe: possible spoilers

Good news guys!
After a very long search, I’ve finally managed to identify the white crop top Nomi wears at the Jamaican night club and during the scene in Bond’s villa.
It’s the Isabel Marant “Halter neck crop top” from the Spring/Summer ’19 collection. It has a white base with an intricate off-white piece of fabric that fastens around the neck. As for the composition, it says “Outer: Linen/Flax 100% - Lining: Cotton 100%”.

Unfortunately – and as I suspected – it’s no longer available. Anyway, here’s the Farfetch link: https://www.farfetch.com/uk/shopping/wo … 17419.aspx
