Hi folks,

It would seem that Loake has re-released the Trapper boot.
https://www.loake.co.uk/trapper.html

As I am aware, these were the boots identified as worn by Bond in Casino Royale during the pre-title sequence Bathroom fight and later at the Ocean Club with Sunspel polo.

Can anybody say if this release has any differences to version available at the time CR was released?
As far as I can tell the only difference is no decorative pattern on the leather interior lining.

Shame they're made in India and not the UK anymore. Same with Sunspel. All made in Turkey. :#

I thought the Loakes Bond wore in CR were the Kemptons.

How does the Trapper 033 last compare to the Kempton 026 last?

    Sunspel shoes and boots are still made in the UK;

(Not sure about their casual footwear).

OK look what arrives today :D got to say I was on the fence but they are really nice and perfect for that CR PTS look!

OP in answer to your question they look spot on when compared to shots of DC in the PTS sequence vs the picture in your post that seemed very light!

WOW! Any evidence to back it up? I may have unkowingly owned a pair of Bond shoes for years without knowing?! :o

Got mine a few weeks ago as well. Very nice, and well within reach pricewise considering the cost of most DC couture.

How do these fit? I see they are a 'G' fitting which is a wide fitting.

I wear the Loake Kemptons on a regular basis and they are an F fitting but with these I did not really feel any noticeable difference. Its only one width difference so they are not flipper size just slightly wider. I have worn Loake shoes in both width fittings so I knew this was not a concern for me.

    I hope this helps

How does it fit compared to the 026 last of the Kemptons? I find the vamp of the Kemptons fits very well, but the Pimlicos with the Capital last are a little snug across the top of the foot.

Now you are getting technical! :D lets just say Kemptons fit like a glove very svelt almost tight but the give a little, Trappers only slightly less so but not enough to make feel they are too loose etc. They are slightly longer but I put that down to the more squaring at the toe vs Kemptons (I loved Loake Ayrs an Oxford shoe with a more square toe and thinner profile).

Here’s some pictures ( as by chance my Kemptons went in for a refit for the 3rd time, did not survive and so they sent me a new pair for the cost of a repair - how nice of them!)

Terrific comparison pics. Thanks for the information.

So the question is do I need a seventh pair of suede boots?

My mistake! I went looking for the source, and I couldn't find anything. No idea how that idea got in my head. Old age I guess ... :s Sorry for the confusion!

I concur with Bond44. The Trapper fits true to your regular dress shoe size. The longer toe box does give the visual perception that they run big, but it's just an illusion.
