The ultimate Guide for James Bond Ties

There are people all over the threads saying that this tie was made by T&A, and that that tie was made by Brioni, and then somewhere else they say something else. This will be the ultimate tie-reference for the Brosnan and Craig eras.

The ties for "Goldeneye" to "Die Another Day" were made by T&A. The ties for CR were made by T&A and TED BAKER. All of the ties for QOC were made by TOM FORD...

Ties in GE were not made by T&A... they were made by Sulka (who also provided the dress shirts). I also believe at least one of the ties in CR was a Brioni.

Some of the T&A ties were designs by Hemming, some were OTR.

According to Asp9mm, Bond's Montenegro necktie from Casino Royale is by Brioni.

Would you have the specific names for the tie, so I can make a chronogical order thing?

I believe that these were the product codes for 2 of the QoS Tom Ford neckties:

Arrival in La Paz Champagne Tie: TF13 1TF B ITA 091

    Greene Planet Party Tie: TFB73 1TK C ITA 081

I've read somewhere that the DAD Tie No.4 (blue tie in command center with Jinx) was made by Brioni.

    Someone else confirm?

Interesting shots of DC wearing the Mitchell Apartment/MI6 office tie, particularly the second picture. The tie seems to have the same small diamond pattern as the other Tom Ford ties in quantum; rather than a plain pin dot design as was previously thought.

The Black Tie in the picture and the costume card are the same I'm sure, its just that I always thought that 'pin dot' would be small round dots and not diamond shaped.
Sorry to be getting a bit off the subject, which is a great idea BTW.

About the last tie we see on Casino Royale, I think there is a copy on Magnoli called "Magnoli Royale", but I don't know how he was able to define the pattern, because I was never able to get a clear shot from the movie.

Is there a picture available from the movie?

This is a great thread and I've got 6 Magnoli ties except for the Hamburg and Copper Hamburg ties. Am looking forward to the CR Train Tie and the QOS Kazan Tie.

CR Train Tie and the QOS Kazan Tie???
Are those in the works at Magnoli's?
I know that the DAD blue circles tie is coming up next...
    Anyone?
  • toutbruntoutbrun Washington, USAPosts: 1,501MI6 Agent
He told me that the Kazan was on the list... but it did not seem to be a work-in-progress or something.. it's sad because it looks like an incredible tie!

CR bowtie and shirt = T&A
    CR jacket (tux) = Brioni

    100% positive.

I thought the Red DAD tie was Brioni or so I've heard. The British Airways tie is by T&A, I know cause I own it.
Away at Boot Camp, won't be back until April the earliest.

Not realising the power of the subconscious I bought this tie tonight from Nordstroms because I liked it. Its one of their own brand, made in the USA, 100% silk, $49.50 plus sales tax at 8.25%.

    Spooky.

    img4364b.jpg

The dots are made up of two crossstitches of white or silver threads, but obviously to the normal eye they appear as dots. The remaining thread is black but because it goes in one direction on one row, and then the other way on the other the row the light bounces of one row of threads in super close up and makes them look grey, they arent, they are black.
    img4363c.jpg

Its not Tom Ford, its probably not the same colour, it probably does'nt pop with its miraculous weave and depth, its definitely not $300, it is of reasonable quality, some might consider it a reasonable and attractive alternative.

I like it. :)-{ The good thing about the London tie is that there are a lot of great alternatives out there. Mine is made by Nautica and I picked it up in the Macy's clearance bin for $12!

Agreed. I was in Burberry today and I swear the same tie was $150.

Someone should buy this. I bought one for myself and just received it, and it seems there is still at least one on their website. Great tie. It's not the good pattern, but the quality is there (compared to Magnoli) and the colors and the effect is quite similar to the real PTS. It's a steal.

Yes, but be aware that it's brown and purple instead of blue and black. You have to figure out if you like a brown and purple tie. But same pattern, yes.

I just received 2 TF ties from Raffaellos. Toutbrun is correct in his assessment of the style and quality of the ties. Unfortunately I was not able to get any of the QoS ties, but the ones I did receive are just as nice.
Bond: "Who would spend $1 million to kill me?"
M: "Jealous husbands. Outraged chefs. Humiliated tailors. The list is endless!"

Have you ever seen a grenadine tie from T&A like the ones that Connery wore? Those are the most luxurious ties you'll ever see.

    Do you have pictures?

I've heard good comments on the T&A ties, like the Hamburg, about the quality and feel of it. HOWEVER, it seems that they get pulls easily.

In fact, I have a few Tom Ford not related to James Bond and one of them has the same issue. It's sad because it's like.. you can't really wear it!
