I can't participate in that method, the more and more I watch them the less of them I like (Edit: dislike!! -{ ). It use to be OP, MR, DAF were my least favorite. Now MR is one of my top films, OP has moved up a lot, and I've even warmed to DAF.
1. Casino Royale (2006): beautifully shot and admirably cast, with a cold, but more complete Bond and a script loyal to Ian Fleming. The first truly tragic Bond after the flawed OHMSS. A fresh and touching reboot of a franchise that was growing repetitive.
2. From Russia with Love (1963): the classic Bond formula in perfect balance while staying decidedly low key.
3. Tomorrow Never Dies (1997): a mediocre script aside, beautifully done, featuring a Pierce Brosnan getting more comfortable in his role and a Michelle Yeoh that kicks ass.
4. Goldfinger (1964): the most iconic of them all that started a phenomenon. A little too flamboyant for my liking.
5. GoldenEye (1995): besides Brosnan, it features some strong performances like Famke Janssen and Judi Dench, but the pacing could be tightened up a bit more.
6. Skyfall (2012): a near perfect rendition of 21st century Bond. However, the manner in which it probed Bond's back story is a little uncomfortable. Naomie Harris as Moneypenny also has little chemistry with Bond.
7. For Your Eyes Only (1981): the best Roger Moore movie because it reined in on the outlandish side. Carole Bouqet as Melina is also a great Bond girl but the inclusion of Bibi Dahl is a huge turn-off.
8. The Living Daylights (1987): Timothy Dalton as Bond is slightly underwhelming but he's okay in this film. The action is nice and the characters are acceptable. Bond's lack of humor and his overall feeling of blandness is the biggest drawback in this one.
9. Dr. No (1962): the first Bond movie. You can tell it's low budget, and being the first of them all they were sort of experimenting on a number of things. Things can be refined more and they know it.
10. The Spy Who Loved Me (1977): suave and complicated, with Barbara Bach's character being perfect as a Bond girl. One of the better Roger Moore films but the whole city underwater thing is still too sci-fi for my liking.
11. Thunderball (1965): the film feels slow overall. It takes forever to get started, and the underwater scenes are just too long. But Sean Connery's performance is great as ever and scenes above water are generally okay.
12. On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969): what a potentially great movie ruined by horrible casting. This movie has some good action and a touching love story, but George Lazenby just lacks the credibility as Bond. Every other actor who played Bond can make you believe you're watching Bond after a while, but not this one: I find it hard to believe the guy I'm watching is supposed to be Bond, all the way till the end.
13. Quantum of Solace (2008): biggest problem is its befuddled plot. The characterization of Bond, especially how he hides his vulnerabilities after losing the love of his life is realistic and a big plus. But it's got enough loose ends to tie already following Casino Royale, and opening up a whole new plot line in Bolivia feels detached and confusing. It's a poor stand alone movie (one can imagine how confusing it must be for those who didn't watch CR), but as a direct sequel it also fails to give a proper sense of closure to the beautiful tragedy it precedes.
14. Live and Let Die (1973): Jane Seymour is stunning but the villains feel banal. The plot is a little convoluted. Roger Moore's Bond is calm and confident, but lacked a little in that sort of lethal feeling.
15. You Only Live Twice (1967): this whole Japanese thing feels a little forced. Kissy Suzuki had the potential to be great, especially the novel version, but in the film she turned into just another eye candy. The second half of the film is already starting to feel too outlandish and fragmented.
16. The World Is Not Enough (1999): Sophie Marceau's performance is good but Denise Richards has virtually zero chemistry with Brosnan. The plot is convoluted but the actions scenes are quite exciting (altho a bit overkill I feel).
17. A View To A Kill (1985): Stacey Sutton is a disaster. Moore is also getting too old for this part. Christopher Walken makes a memorable villain, but the plot is hopeless.
18. Never Say Never Again (1983): it's great to see Connery return. He is too old for the part at this point, but the charm hasn't completely gone away. The rewritten-Thunderball plot tho is hugely disappointing.
19. Diamonds Are Forever (1971): what's up with laser shooting satellites? The absurdity of this aside, the plot becomes quite forgettable and mundane. Tiffany Case is also quite ineffective as a Bond girl.
20. Octopussy (1983): Bond swings through trees, hides in a gorilla suit and disguises as a clown? The tongue-in-cheek comedy has gone too far, especially in a movie that had the good intention of returning to basics. Octopussy is a impressive woman but not enough to redeem this movie.
21. Licence To Kill (1989): the harder edge had the potential to be good, but this the movie where Timothy Dalton's blandness really got in the way. The thing didn't feel like Bond.
22. Die Another Day (2002): the gadgets and the sci-fi get pretty absurd in this one, with the invisible car being the pinnacle. The plot is just strange and confusing. First time watching it, I didn't even realize Toby Stephens is supposed to be the Korean guy until he started speaking Korean and calling the general his dad. Brosnan's performance is okay but he's starting to get old as well. Halle Berry feels misused but I did enjoy Rosamund Pike's performance.

6 - From Russia With Love - (Really good storytelling. A cold war classic.) 7 - Octopussy - (Lot's of creativity and humor. Well directed to the finest detail.) 8 - Skyfall - (Excellent cinematography. That burning house. Also, 21 century themes) 9 - Goldfinger - (One classic scene after another. Great villains.) 10 - For Your Eyes Only - (A sober movie with an appreciation for subtlety. Well done.)

For me, it all depends on my personal experience (e.g. DAD as first bond in cinema eventhough I wasn't allowed to actually watch it or visiting Piz Gloria last year for my birthday)

well since I am only 19yo, my first (and therefore favourite) Bond is Pierce Brosnan(daadumm )
GoldenEye was the first Bond I saw at age 5 in 2001. so of course you will find him high on my list.
then I got in touch with the other ones in no specific order.
on my list above I just put them in the order I enjoy them most.
of course is GF a better movie than TLD but I just don't enjoy it so much

Though I don't care much for any of Craig's Bond films, I'm still excited for Spectre. I really like what I've seen from the trailers, and this means a lot since Daniel Craig's previous Bond films didn't excite me at all from the trailers. Spectre has the first trailer I've seen in a long time that doesn't make Bond look like a generic action film. The clothes are certainly more promising this time too, which means a lot to me.

20. Octopussy (1983): Bond swings through trees, hides in a gorilla suit and disguises as a clown? The tongue-in-cheek comedy has gone too far, especially in a movie that had the good intention of returning to basics. Octopussy is a impressive woman but not enough to redeem this movie.
21. Licence To Kill (1989): the harder edge had the potential to be good, but this the movie where Timothy Dalton's blandness really got in the way. The thing didn't feel like Bond.
22. Die Another Day (2002): the gadgets and the sci-fi get pretty absurd in this one, with the invisible car being the pinnacle. The plot is just strange and confusing. First time watching it, I didn't even realize Toby Stephens is supposed to be the Korean guy until he started speaking Korean and calling the general his dad. Brosnan's performance is okay but he's starting to get old as well. Halle Berry feels misused but I did enjoy Rosamund Pike's performance.
23. The Man with the Golden Gun (1974): Mary Goodnight in this movie is idiotic. Which is a shame cuz she's an important ally in the novels. Christopher Lee portrays the villain well, but the whole thing feels uninspired and boring.
24. Moonraker (1979): so am I watching Bond or Star Wars? Maybe it's just me, but I don't think spacecrafts shooting lasers at each other should ever be part of Bond. The whole extinction of mankind thing feels more Superman than Bond, and just gets too outlandish to be taken seriously. Lois Chiles as Holly Goodhead isn't bad, but the problem is that the chemistry with Moore is nonexistent.
Haven't watched any of the other two Casino Royales so won't comment.

I can't remember seeing that top 3 together on many peoples lists before. This is what I love about being a Bond fan - no two people are going to completely agree and I love reading all of the different opinions on the films. -{

For me, it all depends on my personal experience (e.g. DAD as first bond in cinema eventhough I wasn't allowed to actually watch it or visiting Piz Gloria last year for my birthday)
I can understand most rankings here, even though I don't agree with ones that have Daniel Craig's films near the top. But this one I can't understand at all.

then I got in touch with the other ones in no specific order.
on my list above I just put them in the order I enjoy them most.
of course is GF a better movie than TLD but I just don't enjoy it so much

Not sure why you say you are excited about where to place SPECTRE...you clearly have a dislike for Craig's films (comparable to other actors)...so is it just the PLACING of the movie you are excited about ? -{
Though I don't care much for any of Craig's Bond films, I'm still excited for Spectre. I really like what I've seen from the trailers, and this means a lot since Daniel Craig's previous Bond films didn't excite me at all from the trailers. Spectre has the first trailer I've seen in a long time that doesn't make Bond look like a generic action film. The clothes are certainly more promising this time too, which means a lot to me.
