    I know Statham gave an interview last week in which he was asked would he like to play Bond IF he was offered it....a bit of a leap to say DC has relinquished the role...which I'm sure just may have generated a line or two in most papers 8-)

    He would be the worst Bond. I don't think the public would buy either a bald Bond or Bond in a full toupee.

    He signed for five. I cant see them finding someone else especially if this one carries over to the next one.

    All it is is lying journalists bigging up Jason Statham, probably to promote his new film.

    Dont get your hopes up! Tomorrow it will be Idris Elba again..

    Connery wasn't bald in any of his real Bond films, he just a very receded hairline by YOLT. But back then people would more easily accept hairpieces on movie stars. I think it may have had to do with stars back then almost always being in public with their toupees. Jason Statham is known to be bald, and people will be bothered by his toupee the whole time.

    As long as Sony or Daniel Craig does not say he stopped, I do not believe it. Seems to me that if Craig would stop after SPECTRE, it would be announced at a press conference and not in a second ranks newspaper..

    Don't forget who is playing Bond currently. If Craig can do it, anyone can... even Statham! I'd love a bald Bond, actually.

    Statham looks more like a thug than James Bond -- he could play a South Africa hit man or something, but I wouldn't want him as Bond.

    That's what I was thinking. And can he do accents? He certainly doesn't speak like any previous Bonds have, and his accent doesn't fit with the character. He's too big an actor to be Bond anyway, and he'd be 50 when starting as Bond if he replaced Daniel Craig in the next film.

    He seems to be good in the roles he is cast in, and people enjoy him (I don't personally watch him because I am just not keen).

    I don't think he should be cast as Bond.
