Quick OHMSS question

Is it ever explained who the men in the pre-title sequence are and for whom they are working? Or is this just one of those details that should be overlooked?

I've never given it much thought, but now that I think about it. It might be Draco's men. Remember, later in the film they take Bond to see Draco, perhaps they witnessed Bond saving Tracy, and were going to get him then, but he beat them up.

Yes they are working for Draco. If you remember when 007 and Draco meet face to face, Draco tells 007 about the problems he's been having with Tracy. They had gone in search of her, and it so happened when they reached her Bond was there also -it was fight first questions later. Good scrap though! :)

Its true about the men working for Marc Ange, but when I saw it for the first time, I thought they were wokring for Blofeld. I think it would have made sense, as 007 was tracking him down, and maybe he thought Tracy was a lead to him, but really she was a trap for 007 by Blofelds men. But as the story went on, I got it.

I think they are Draco's men, but I'm not sure. I haven't seen OHMSS in awhile.
Flattery will get you nowhere, but don't stop trying.

I'm sure this has been covered in more recent threads, but...

One of the PTS men is Raphael, played by Terence Mountain. In the PTS, he's the one who initially holds the gun to Bond's head and tells him to get in the boat. Later, in the hotel lobby, he's the one holding Bond's PPK behind his newspaper.

It's safe to assume that Draco was having Tracy followed by his men, so that he knew where she was and what she was doing.

It's made clear in the novel that they're Draco's men. Maibaum has re-ordered the events in Fleming's opening chapters to give Lazenby/Bond a fight sequence in the PTS.

Actually there are three people. Raphael, Che Che and Toussaint. Raphael is the the guy in the PTS. Che Che is the huge bloke in the hotel room. Toussaint is the one in the hotel lobby with the gun.

Not quite. Raphael is also in the hotel lobby holding the gun. Toussaint says, "you have lost something" but Raphael holds the gun. Then the two of them escort Bond to the car, where Che Che is waiting.

Really, thats a bit disrespectful. In the book, they were draco agents, so thats probably all there is to it.

That's not unusual in Bond films- eg, Kissy in YOLT, Campbell in OHMSS.
