in Casino Royale - Bond 21 (2006)
Hi all,

Just found this forum maybe a night or two ago. Just saw the movie, and though there were a few parts that cheapened the movie for me, overall, I really enjoyed it.

As of now, Rottentomatoes has 21 reviews of Casino Royale, and 95% are possitive. Ofcourse, now that I've said that, the CNB movement will probably flood it with bad reviews without ever having seen the movie, if they stay true to their boycott, hehehe (just kidding ... errr ... they wouldn't right?). :D

Congratulations to Craig and company; it's hard enough to fill the shoes of one of the most charismatic Bonds in Brosnan; it's even harder when scores of hardcore Bond fans want you to fail.

Don't know what the majority verdict will be like, but I know that I enjoyed it. Good movie, good job. :)

    I just hope that anyone who sees the movie at least go into it with an open mind, not with one trying to find flaws to criticize.

    It's like watching the stock market. ;) It's on 94%, was on 95% but has dropped by one percentage mark in two days. :D

    It went down to 92% again, but now it is 94% again, with 62 reviews counted.

    Back up to 95%, with 88 reviews counted, only four of which were negative.

    Edit: now it is 96%, it just keeps climbing

    And it's now "Certified Fresh," meaning there are at least 40 reviews and more than 60% are positive. I have to admit, I am absolutely astonished by these positive reviews--I don't think I have ever seen a Bond film receive so much critical praise, and I've been following the reviews of each film for more than twenty years now. Also, when you look at the handful of reviews that give CR a "splat" you'll see that these aren't thorough trashings of the film--they're generally respectful and indicate that there are still good things in CR. This is incredible. Well, I'm about to see CR for myself, so I guess I'll soon know if all this praise is deserved!

    Just visited there, and currently only 4 (FOUR!!) of the 101 (ONE HUNDRED AMD ONE!!) reviews counted are classed as rotten!

    Not one member of this site would have expected this level of critical praise. Incredible.

    I'm also a bit surprised at the number of good reviews compared to bad ones. I guess it's official; although I'm a huge Pierce Brosnan Bond fan, and I thought it was a mistake to let him go, Daniel Craig proves he is an excellent character actor, and given the right material, he makes an excellent Bond. :)
