Craig on Charlie Rose

Did anyone happen to catch Craig on The Charlie Rose show (airs on PBS in the States)? I've actually never watched the show previously but saw he was going to be a guest so I tuned in. It's a very basic show, no audience or comedy really. I am very impressed with Craig with the media in the sense that he doesn't appear to be 'selling' a movie. I think he really believes they made a great movie. He does show a lot of nervous ticks and dealing with the media, interviews, etc are definatly not his strongest suit. Charlie Rose asked many of the ordinary question with many of the ordinary answers from Craig. However, Craig was given much more time in this interview and was able to give more detailed answers than on Letterman. I was suprised as to how well he seems to know the character, from both the movie and the novel aspects. He understands that some Bond movies are superior to others and that it's futile to compare him to another bond actor. He did say that Dr. No and FRWL were two of his favorite movies, not just of the Bond movies but of movies altogether. His apparent knowledge of the movies, character and his demenor make me even more excited to be sitting in the theatre Friday at 7:15 to watch Casino Royale. This coming weekend should be one of the more busy ones in recent history after most of us see the film.

just starting now on the west coast. Thanks for the heads up.

*Just watched the interview. A lot more relaxed than the letterman interview. I noticed a few nervous ticks, but he seemed relaxed overall.

For those who missed it, I think PBS replays the previous nights interviews at 12pm the next day. Might want to check local listings though.
Some people would complain even if you hang them with a new rope

They also stream the shows on the Charlie Rose Web site. The Nov. 15 show is up now, so the 16th shouldn't be far behind.

UPDATE -- Actually it's up right now. Here's the link:

I got a chance to see it and was very impressed and I don't impress easily. He was very likeable, articulate, genuinely excited, and spoke at length about what Fleming had established. Also said that he signed for "two or three more films." I wish he had done an interview like this when he was first cast. It would have gone a long way in establishing him as one of the "family"

For a guy who took a lot of flak for admitting he hadn't dreamt of playing Bond his whole life, he sure knew a lot about the character and certainly has given the role a lot of thought. I really appreciate that, and from the reviews I've read, it's paid off. And I agree: he is indeed likeable and articulate. He seemed very relaxed, to me, though obviously excited about the film. Baron Bond noted that Rose's show is bare bones (it is a great show that I highly recommend)which I think works to Craig's advantage. It's more like a conversation than an interview, which can be incredibly nerve-wracking. Nice chat.
