what's the deal with her boyfriend? when did he get captured and did she really love bond?
Read the script but havent seen the film yet, so this might have changed. But it's my believe that her boyfriend was picked up by Mr. White in an attempt to use Vesper to get the money (if and when Le Chiffre failed). Over the course of her charade, she honestly fell for Bond. Which is why she feels so guilty towards the end, before she allows herself to die.
