DVD Release

Apologies if this has been asked elsewhere but do we have any idea when the DVD will be released??? I think I am off to see CR again this week but am eagerly anticipating the DVD despite the fact that the film has only just been released ;%

The Rittenhouse Archives website says that their Bond / CR card set will be released in March 2007, to "conincide with the video".

It's worded a little cryptically (are they talking about the final set of remastered DVD's or CR?) but it could mean that the CR DVD might be out a little earlier this time around.

The sooner it is out the better, the beloved is getting tired of me badgering to see it again!! Just would like to go and experience it on the big screen again before having to make do with our small telly and portable upstairs

According to MI6:

Casino Royale's release on DVD is scheduled for March 27, 2007 and will also be accompanied by releases on UMD and Sony's new Blu-ray high-definition format.

Well, I hope I get another opportunity to see it in theaters soon, although that's sadly doubtful so I may have to wait. If so, definitely ordering early and rewatching the day it comes.

I think sometimes waiting all that time to release the DVD is unwise. The film will have run its natural cinema course by the end of the year, mid January at most. What then is the harm of getting it into shops for Valentines Day ?? If my beloved bought it for me I would be very happy :x

The other aspect is the piracy one. I know several people who have already seen this on pirate DVD copies and plenty more who will buy them before the official release. I know a lot of people would buy the pirate one rather than pay retail prices but leaving it till May does leave a window of opportunity for the less scrupulous!

And I want mine now - although I have convinced said beloved I need to see it at the cinema at least one more time !
