Why EON picked Craig.

This is NOT a forum bashing Craig. He is a great bond and a talented actor. This is just my opinion on Craig. Our generation of action/thriller films has revived the muscular, scraped up "Bada**" if you will. But our generation has added one more element to this style of hero: Ruthlessness. The peoople have turned to action heroes like Sin City's Marv and 24's Jack Bauer. Someone who uses ruthlessness as their tool. If the next generation calls for action heroes who eat raw pigs than it's safe to say that future bond films will feature bond taking a bite out of uncooked swine. The bond of the 80's has returned with new tricks up his sleeve, and that's not a bad thing.

I wouldn't overanalyze things. The producers simply went back to having a "man's man" play James Bond. The whole "ruthlessness" element was always a part of Bond, just toned down a bit to make his more civilized qualities seem more apparent.
