Inhaler Question

Hmm, I just remembered something and don't quite understand it. I remember, after one of the poker games, Le Chiffre leaves his inhaler on a table and Bond puts a small metal object inside it. What was it? I dont remember it being used again in the movie and so forgot about it. A trackign device like that in his arm? or what?

It was a combination bug/tracking device. First, he used his cell phone to find Le Chiffre's location on the fourth floor, then was able to listen to him via an earpiece (the one that gives him away to the LRA thugs).
