Did anyone else think that Casino Royale closely resembles the novel?

As I re-read the novel, I've noticed how strikingly similar it was to the movie. It showed a mroe jovial side of Bond up till Vesper's "betrayel" and death and I thought it was expertly executed on screen. Although I am a die hard Brosnan fan, kudos to Craig for making it happen on screen {[]
