Audience sizes

Just want to mention that I went to see CR again tonight for the 3rd time and the cinema was closer to being full that on the Sunday after the release of the film and last Saturday too.

Anyone else been to see it in the last couple of days and still find the attendance good???

Also want to mention that it was a totally different experience watching it with a 95% adult audience without the kids talking all the way through it and not getting the jokes. Also had my first experience of someone wolf whistling a car tonight - and it wasn't the Mondeo :p

I noticed far fewer 'tweens and the like in both audiences when I saw "Casino Royale," and it definitely made for better viewing. The film was aimed at adults, and it was nice to be with a crowd that seemed both engaged and "in the know."

This 'audience size' thing is a bit deceptive where I live, which is about 1 mile from an older, 'non-stadium seating' multiplex...even at 4:10 PM on 17 November 2006, Opening Day (my first viewing), the theatre was probably half full. My second viewing, the very next day (Saturday, 10:00 PM) had a screen that was 75% full...

I'm sure the more fashionable, modern screens on the West side of town were much busier...still, I'd have been quite wrong to interpret a 50%-full house on Opening Day to be a harbinger of future box office $$$$ ;)

I caught the first show on the firat day at my local cinema, and the theater was 85% full. I usually hate going to movies on opening day, but this was Bond. I'm glad I went to. Lots of laughter and on the final hand of the card game one dude was over excited about Bonds hand, I believe he yelled out a G** Da**. I think he jumped out of his seat a little to. It was a fun experience. I'll have to go again very soon.

I saw the film for the 2nd time on monday evening. The cinema was just as full as the first time I saw it.

It was a more mature audience though. And the older generation seemed to love the film, going on what I heard when I was leaving the theatre.

Was only half full when I watched it on the day of the premiere, but that was probably because it was start time at midnight and tickets were 20 quid. Everybody I speak to says they have watched it though.

I've been reliably told it's not the size of the audience that matters...

Saw it a second time here in the South-West of the UK, and the theatre was about 80% full. Bond is still raking it in...

I went again last night and it was sold out. That was for the 8pm showing and the 8.30pm showing had a a pretty sizable queue by about 7.45 so I am assuming that was sold out too.
Not bad for mid week and a couple of weeks after opening.

Just about everyone I know has seen it, and on the whole, they have all been very positive, especially the women.

    HAHA

Someone posted this: "some of you chicks are really horny "

I'd say: Some of you men are really boring...

Come on, it's true... why would we women fantasize about DC if the man at home was a drop dead gorgeous hunk? EXACTLY!

He (DC) IS rather sexy and has incredibly blue eyes (although they probably have been air brushed... or somthing)!!!!

I watched it last Friday and the theatre was completely full from what I could tell. In fact I had to sit a little closer than I wanted to because there were no empty seats.

It's hard to really get a handle on the audience numbers here because there are several theater complexes around that are showing CR on two screens all day long. I've seen the film three times, at various times of the day, and the audience has grown larger each time. I've also been turned away on one occasion because a showing was sold out.
When a film like CR goes to a single screen, that usually means there's been a big drop off, although the numbers may still be respectable. That hasn't happened yet.

I went to see it on Thanksgiving so I know it wasn't as full as it could have been. We got to the theater a little early and when it let out I guesstimated that it was probably about half full. When the show we saw started there were only about 4 other people, but by the time it was over it was probably about 1/4-1/2 full.

We weren't at the nicest theater in Vegas but thats only because both of the casinos we were going to go to were sold out, for both times on Thanksgiving.

I have seen Casino Royale twice. Each viewing was at a different location.

On opening Saturday I was visiting my brother and he took me to his local cinema complex where CR was showing on six screens. We watched the 2.15pm screening in a theatre with approx eight hundred seats. I'd say there were five hundred in attendance. When we came out I noticed that three of the evening screenings were sold out.

The second viewing was at my local cinema complex last Sunday. CR was showing on three screens. I wen't along with my parents to the 2.00pm screening in a theatre with approx five hundred seats. There was barely one hundred in attendance, which surprised me for that time of the day.

I think you may have a point there, not that size matters to me lol

I have just read the whole thread and laughed soooo hard at that post. Blueman, you will recall my first post on this forum, I am seriously considering joining CBn and re-posting it there ;)

The amount of stick I have taken from friends and family about my affection for DC has been unreal but I don't care a bit. If he's doing it for me, he's clearly doing something rather extraordinary.

(Cue me trying to wangle a 4th visit to the cinema ;% )

The first two times I went there was a large proportion of kids and that was at the weekends when the audience as a whole was smaller in number. The attendance was better last night, perhaps the adults go in the week and the mithering kids get taken at the weekends ;) ??

Now that you have mentioned kids. Surprisingly, I didn't notice any at all at my second viewing last Sunday afternoon. The mithering kids were elsewhere......not that I am complaining.

    Mithering?

Dude, take your foot off that gas pedal, it can't be healthy...:o ;)
