James Bond's final comment to M

asioasio Melbourne, AustraliaPosts: 546MI6 Agent
I'm unsure if this has been discussed as yet, but in Casino Royale, when James Bond is leaving M's house, he calls her Mum.
This may just be interpreted as a quip on James' part, in reference to the way M tells him how to suck eggs, or could it in fact be something even bigger?
Wasn't there a fan-made script that surfaced on the internet back in 1999 called "Final Chapter" where James finds out that his parents are alive, that M is his mother, and that his father is a villain? I remember the script was so good that many people believed it to be real.
Perhaps I'm just engaging in wild speculation, or perhaps I've just unearthed a major plotline for Bond 22!

It's not "Mum", it's "Ma'am", as in "Madam".

"Ma'am" (pronounced "Mahm") is how British underlings address a female superior, instead of "Sir" for a male one.

However, I love the idea of M being JB's mother - perhaps he was the love child of the young M and Blofeld!!

Perhaps George Lucas should direct. ;) I have to say, that sounds like a terrible idea. What's next? He discovers Moneypenny is really his older sister! :o :D

M being the mother of Bond... how silly.

The real deal is simple: M loves Bond AS a child, which doesn't mean he is her son. and i won't like to see anything like that in the future....

A better Plot would be that Bloferd (or any villian ****ed of with Bond) discovers his weak point: he wasn't a 00 all his life, so he travels back in the past to kill his mother before he is born. MI6 worried about that puts Q to work in a time machine to send 007 to save his mom, but lets get real, he is beter looking that his father, so they ended up in bed and Bond seems to be his own father. this paradox gives his super strength, a never ageing capability and the manipulation of time and space. After defeating the villian, in the next Bond movie we find that the time machine is still operating and - again- bloferd travels back to kill all of them in a skiing accident which bond in an anonymous call prevent him to go to the trip, but blame himself to not be able to prevent it, he seduces his aunt and train young Bond to become the spy we all know and love.

Dan: i believe that is in Eon's contract that George Lucas should not be in the same country where the movie is filming. if so, the movie should be cancelled....

If I am ever watching a Bond movie where the script writers go the route of "M might be Bonds mother" I would stop watching the series right then and there.

It would easily be the single defining moment in time when I completely abandoned any hope that there were still people of intelligence working in the entertainment industry.

Ditto, but also with the time-traveling Bond idea.

Why not, they can bring Lee Tamahori to film it
