Pam Bouvier

I have often wondered why Pam is often referred to as Pam Bouvier, but later in the film she is called Miss Kennedy most notably when Bond meets Montelongo.

Why did she suddenly change her name?

She was using the name 'Kennedy' as a cover. Remember Bond telling her that her names was all over Leiter's files about Sanchez? And Benicio Del Toro's character seemed to know a little about her at the bar as well. While in Isthmus, it was necessary for her to adopt a new identity to not alert Sanchez to their plan.

It was not necessary for Bond, on the othe hand, to hide his identity since 1) he was a stranger to Sanchez and 2) he was using his actual situation to weave a story to get into to see Sanchez.

The name change is also a wink-wink joke to the audience, because Jacqueline Kennedy's maiden name was Bouvier.

That's interesting, that had never occurred to me.
