Nobody has yet made a decent custom suppressor that is the same is the CR version, the nearest you can get is a small flat based Knight Armament suppressor. Although the standard long version is used in the title sequence. Q-Branch's version is in the spirit of the CR suppressor but is far from accurate. Looks really cool though, I'd recommend them highly.

I've been looking into this, and I also spoke with Kevin from 007Q-Branch, who may chime in as well. When he first showed me the CR suppressor prototype, I questioned whether it had the perforations, as in the movie I didn't remember seeing them. Together we looked at some screen-caps, and I do believe he is correct about the perforations.

I'm not sure I agree that the suppressor is based on a Knight's Armament can, as KAC is based in the United States, and it seems that Bond tactical gear is decidedly European. None of the KAC suppressors I've seen resemble the one in CR.

But let's tackle this. Who knows what we'll discover? First off, does anyone have good reference pictures from CR?

The screen used suppressor does not have the perforations but indentations like that of the KAC, they certainly used the longer KAC in the titles sequence. The smaller one used in the film is very similar to the half sized KAC with flat base, but it is a custom made can that they used. I have seen the screen used versions several times and they are very good to very roughly made, none of them had perforations at all.

    J. Skottowe no longer works for Bapty, he took Eons business away from them with CR :o

I'd certainly go with Q-Branch's version, it looks very good and is the closest you will probably ever get.

    Asp,

Do you have any photo reference? Do you have a personal connection with any of the armourers? I'd love to know more....

My email is jhyphen@aol.com if any of this is not for public consumption.

    Thanks.

I noticed in the Bond on Set book there is a good picture of the P99 lying on the floor during the stairwell fight. It looks like it has the perforations a la Q-Branch....

Let's keep this going. This is fun.

As an aside: what's the machine gun he uses at the end of CR?

If I remember right, wasn't it a variant model of the H&K G36 submachine gun?

hi all , sorry but been a bit busy in the q-lab making casino royale silencers,
anyway the item you are talking about is H&K UMP
9MM (uber machine pistol) or (ultimate machine pistol)you can tell it is 9 mm as it has the curved mag like the H&K MP5 SD 5&6 THE ONLY ONES U CAN GET AT THE MO ARE AIRSOFT BUT ARE IN 45 CAL WITH STRAIGHT MAGS ,
H&K ARE USING DC TO ADVERTISE THE UMP ON THERE WEB SITE.

Here is a pic of an airrsoft MP5/UMP blend...in your mind you have to strip off all the extra crap they harnessed on there but is this the general idea?

Take the UMP in the second picture, put a silencer on it, and you're done. Unless you want to modify an MP5 magazine to fit, because as you can see in Craig's UMP9, it has a curved magazine. The airsoft versions made are copies of the UMP45, which is the .45 version, as opposed to the 9mm version.

I got my Q-Branch P99 with Die Another Day silencer today and it really is the business. Top craftsmanship and the customer service is excellent. Kevin really goes that extra mile.{[]

No, they're not. A thread has been put in to the plastic barrel. Perfect for display purposes, which is all I'll use it for.

    tells you here

    http://arniesairsoft.co.uk/?filnavn=/reviews/p99/p99_review.htm

Replacing the slide and barrel is slightly harder. First simply slot the barrel back in, making sure the out barrel is inserted correctly.

Next, holding the slide upside down (and therefore the frame as well, obviously) slide the rails into the gaps in the slide.

When the slide reaches about 3/4 of the way along the frame you need to push down a small silver triangular piece, on the top of the hammer, and make sure that the disassembly catch is still pressed down so that the slide goes on properly.

Once the slide is all the way onto the frame you can turn the P99 the right way up again, rack the slide the whole way once and then pull it back a short way again, pushing the disassembly catch up again. All finished.

I've actually handled those very guns myself at the Bapty's factory where they were put together, i got to compare the new Brosnan gun with an old PPK which turned out to be Timothy Dalton's own.

The thing that struck me is the weight. The p99 is a much larger pistol and unloaded is a fraction of the weight of the unloaded PPK. All the composite materials make the pistol much lighter. Even with the silencer the weight is still low.

Most replicas I've seen of the p99 are very accurate in terms of weight of the unloaded weapon.

PS: hiya Eagle fancy meeting you here!

If anyone is interested, I have one Walther P99, deactivated last week. This is 100% genuine, in box with Home Office Certificate. They normally sell for £595.00, but I'm offering it to anyone with the cash, for £495.00 inc postage.

    Dear all.
Thank you so much for all your kind words and the fantastic photos you have all put on AJB , You guys are the reason that q branch exists , and it gives me great pleasure to make any 007 fan happy . After all no true bond fan should be without a silenced P99 or PPK in there collection.
As you all know the casino royale silencer is my latest project and the drive to make it as exact as I can to the one on screen, all came from just a two to three second gimps of the P99 when Daniel Craig opens the glove box of the DBS & again when he takes it out from the jiffy bag in the lift at the casino, the look on Vespers face is great!!! My big silencer you have got James!!!
Anyway 007q-branch .com has been going for over 6 years now and it’s because of all you guys we will continue to try and get it right.
    Roll on Bond 22.
Ps P99 are back in stock along with a ltd number of PPK,s with exact Goldeneye silencers we are also working on a silver PPK and silencer exact to the one on the posters.
    And the prototype looks great.
Again thank you all so much
